Best performed former St. John's University players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Red Storm players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. DJ Kennedy (6'6''-F-89, graduated '11, plays pro in Italy) led Umana Reyer Venezia to a victory against the tenth-ranked MIA-RO Cantu (13-13) 94-90 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. He scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 20 minutes. Umana Reyer Venezia (18-8) is placed second in the Serie A. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Kennedy averages 5.5ppg and 4.0rpg in two games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Lamont Hamilton (6'10''-C/F-84, graduated '07, plays in Japan) was the major contributor in a 2-point Niigata Albirex's victory against the second-ranked Toshiba Thunders (38-21) 80-78 in the Japanese B League on Saturday night. Hamilton recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Central. Niigata Albirex (43-15) is placed first. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Hamilton has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 16.9ppg, 9.3rpg, 2.1apg and 1.5bpg.

   #3. Justin Brownlee (6'6''-F-88, graduated '11, currently in Lebanon), who plays in the Lebanese LBL could not help Al Riyadi (12-2) in their last game. Despite Brownlee's very good performance the league leader Al Riyadi lost 66-74 on the road to the leading Champville. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Brownlee also added 8 rebounds in 38 minutes. Brownlee has very impressive stats this year 17.4ppg, 4.9rpg and 2.3apg in seven games. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

   #4. Maurice Harkless (6'8''-G/F-93, graduated '12, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder (49-33) crushing them 114-94 in the NBA last Tuesday. Harkless scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The Portland Trail Blazers have a solid 53-29 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Harkless' fourth year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 7.7ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg. Harkless is a naturalized Puerto Rican.

   #5. Justin Burrell (6'10''-F-88, graduated '11, plays in Japan) contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-40) crushing them 92-65 in the Japanese B League on Sunday night. Burrell had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 26 minutes. Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (31-27) are placed second in West group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Burrell's first season with the team. Burrell has very impressive stats this year 15.8ppg, 10.1rpg and 3.8apg in 27 games.

   #6. Dwight Hardy (6'2''-SG-87, graduated '11, currently in France) contributed to a Limoges CSP Elite's surprising victory against the league leader Cholet Basket 84-76 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA in Saturday night's game. Hardy scored 15 points. He has relatively good stats this season 13.7ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.4apg. Hardy is a naturalized Congolese.

   #7. Sean Evans (6'8''-PF-88, graduated '11, plays pro in Greece) was not able to help Ifestos (12-12) in their last game. Despite Evans' good performance Ifestos was edged 80-77 at home by the lower-ranked (#12) Cretan Kings. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Evans also added 9 rebounds in 28 minutes. He has relatively good stats this year 13.0ppg, 8.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg in 23 games.

   #8. Phil Greene IV (6'2''-PG-92, graduated '15, currently in Poland), who plays in the Polish EBL was not able to secure a victory for Trefl Sopot (0-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Trefl Sopot was edged 96-93 in Ostrow Wlkp. by the lower-ranked (#5) BM Slam Stal. Greene IV was the top scorer with 24 points. He also added 6 assists in 36 minutes. Greene IV has very impressive stats this year 15.8ppg, 1.3rpg and 3.8apg in six games.

   #9. Amar Alibegovic (6'9''-F-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Italy) helped Virtus Roma win their game against the 11th-ranked Givova Scafati crushing them 91-64 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) last Sunday. Alibegovic scored 6 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. This season he averages 7.0ppg and 4.1rpg. Alibegovic has also Italian citizenship.

   #10. Omar-Sharif Cook (6'1''-PG-82, graduated '01, plays in Spain) managed to help Movistar Estudiantes Madrid in a victory against the closely-ranked Leche Rio Breogan crushing them 95-62 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. He scored only 3 points in 32 minutes. This year Cook averages 7.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.9apg and 1.2spg in 27 games. He is a naturalized Montenegrin.
