Best performed former James Madison University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Dukes alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Ron Curry (6'3''-G-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Hungary) contributed to Falco-Vulcano's victory against the fifth-ranked PVSK-Veolia (14-15) 95-91 in the Hungarian A Division last Saturday. He scored 8 points, made 3 passes and 3 steals in 33 minutes. Falco-Vulcano Energia KC Szombathely (20-9) is placed third in Places 1-5 group. It was Falco-Vulcano's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Curry's first season with the team. Curry has relatively good stats this year 12.9ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.1apg and 1.3spg in 28 games he played so far.

   #2. Thomas Vodanovich (6'7''-F-94, graduated '17, plays in New Zealand) led SIT Zero Fees Southland Sharks to a victory against the closely-ranked Giants (1-1) 100-91 in the New Zealand NBL on Thursday night. Vodanovich scored 17 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. SIT Zero Fees Southland Sharks (2-0) are placed second in the NBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Vodanovich has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 17.0ppg, 4.5rpg and 3.0apg.

   #3. Juwann James (6'6''-F/C-87, graduated '09, currently in Switzerland) contributed to a Lugano Tigers' victory against the second-ranked Pully (2-2) 73-66 in the Swiss SBL in Sunday night's game. James had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds in 40 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 7-11. Lugano Tigers (4-0) are placed first. So far his team won all four games in the Second Stage. The Second Stage already ended. It's James' first season with the team. He has very impressive stats this year 18.2ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.7apg, 1.3bpg and 1.9spg in 11 games.

   #4. Jackson Kent (6'7''-G-93, graduated '17, plays pro in Germany) helped Nuernberg win their game against the league leader Gladiators (16-4) crushing them 91-64 in the German ProA (second division) last Friday. He scored 11 points and added 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Nuernberg Falcons BC (19-11) is placed third in the ProA. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Kent has very high stats. He averages 15.3ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.1apg and 1.2spg.

   #5. Denzel Bowles (6'10''-F/C-89, graduated '11, plays in Japan) could not help Kanazawa Samuraiz (21-37) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the fifth-placed Kanazawa Samuraiz (21-37) lost 82-95 on the road to the higher-ranked (#4) Earthfriends Tokyo Z in the Central group. Bowles had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 34 minutes. It was Kanazawa Samuraiz's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Bowles has very impressive stats this year 21.7ppg, 11.3rpg and 3.2apg in 58 games.

   #6. Andrey Semenov (6'7''-F-90, graduated '14, currently in Russia) led Runa Basket to a victory over the closely-ranked Dyn-Magn.ChL crushing them 97-70 in the Russian Superleague 2 (third division) in Monday night's game. Semenov was MVP of the game. He scored 28 points (!!!) and grabbed 7 rebounds. This season Semenov has very high stats. He averages 25.1ppg, 6.7rpg, 2.2apg and 1.5spg.

   #7. Yohanny Dalembert (6'8''-F, graduated '17, plays pro in Canada) was not able to help the Sudbury Five (21-19) in their last game. Despite Dalembert's very good performance the Sudbury Five (#3) lost 92-101 in St. John's to the Edge. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds. Dalembert also added 2 blocks in 32 minutes. This year Dalembert averages 5.3ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.6bpg in 36 games. He has also Canadian citizenship.

   #8. Benjamin Louis (6'4''-G-88, graduated '11, plays in Australia) helped Casey Cavaliers Cranbourne win their game against the fourth-ranked Magic 90-81 in the Australian State League (second division) on Saturday night. Louis recorded 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. This season Louis averages 6.5ppg, 4.7rpg, 4.8apg and 2.2spg.
