Top Syracuse University alumni playing currently pro basketball

Every week we bring you a list of the top former Orangemen players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Brandon Triche (6'4''-G-91, graduated '13, plays pro in Italy) led Benfapp CdO to a 3-point victory over the ninth-ranked Benacquista LT (14-13) 96-93 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Triche scored 38 points (!!!), grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 37 minutes. Benfapp Capo d'Orlando (19-8) is placed second in West group. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Triche has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 24.2ppg, 5.6rpg, 6.3apg and 1.5spg in 27 games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Demetris Nichols (6'8''-F-84, graduated '07, plays in Italy) could not help one of league's weakest teams Sidigas AV (14-12) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Sidigas AV was crushed 105-84 on the road by the higher-ranked Banco di Srd (#7). Nichols was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 4 passes. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Nichols' first season with the team. Nichols has relatively good stats this year 14.4ppg, 5.8rpg and 2.4apg.

   #3. Andrew Rautins (6'4''-SG-86, graduated '10, currently in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish BSL was not able to help Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul (11-14) in their last game. Despite Rautins' very good performance Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul was edged 80-78 in a derby game by the higher-ranked (#7) Besiktas. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Rautins also added 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. It was Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul's fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Rautins' first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 14.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.0apg in 25 games. Rautins is a naturalized Canadian.

   #4. Michael Carter-Williams (6'6''-G-91, graduated '13, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Orlando Magic (42-40) in their game against the Toronto Raptors (58-24) in the NBA. Carter-Williams scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The Orlando Magic (42-40) was crushed 111-82 in Toronto by the Raptors. This season Carter-Williams averages 5.9ppg, 5.1rpg and 3.8apg.

   #5. Jerami Grant (6'8''-F-94, graduated '14, plays in the NBA) couldn't help the Oklahoma City Thunder (49-33) in their game against the Portland Trail Blazers (53-29) in the NBA. He recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks in 35 minutes. The Oklahoma City Thunder (49-33) lost 99-104 in Portland to the Trail Blazers. Grant has very impressive stats this year 13.5ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.3bpg in 82 games.

   #6. Rick Jackson (6'9''-F-89, graduated '11, currently in Argentina), who plays in the Argentinian La Liga couldn't help Quilmes MP (9-21) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance Quilmes MP was crushed 99-75 in Concordia by the much higher-ranked Estudiantes (#7). Jackson was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 5 rebounds. This season Jackson averages 8.8ppg and 4.8rpg.

   #7. Tyler Roberson (6'8''-F-94, graduated '17, plays pro in France) couldn't help FOS Provence Basket in their game against Pau-Lacq-Orthez in the French Jeep ELITE ProA. Roberson scored 5 points in 10 minutes. His team was edged 91-90. This year Roberson averages 3.0ppg and 2.3rpg in three games.
