Top Georgia Tech alumni playing currently pro basketball

Every week we bring you a list of the top former Yellow Jackets players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Charles Mitchell (6'8''-F/C-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Argentina) led Ferro to a victory over the 12th-ranked San Martin Corrientes (14-16) 82-66 in the Argentinian La Liga in Thursday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Mitchell scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 27 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Ferrocarril Oeste (20-12) is placed second in the La Liga. It's Mitchell's first year with the team. Mitchell has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 16.8ppg, 9.1rpg and 1.6apg in 31 games he played so far.

   #2. Derrick Favors (6'10''-F-91, graduated '10, plays in the NBA) could not help the Utah Jazz (50-32) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance the Utah Jazz (50-32) was badly defeated 118-98 at home by the Houston Rockets. Favors recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks. It's Favors' eighth season with the team. This year Favors has very high stats. He averages 11.8ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.4bpg.

   #3. Zachery Peacock (6'8''-C-87, graduated '10, currently in France) was the main contributor in a JL Bourg Basket's victory against the sixth-ranked SIG Strasbourg (16-11) 83-73 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Monday night. Peacock was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 24 minutes. JL Bourg Basket (23-4) is placed second in the Jeep ELITE ProA. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Peacock's fourth season with the team. Peacock has very impressive stats this year 17.6ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg in 25 games.

   #4. Thaddeus Young (6'8''-F-88, graduated '07, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to help the Indiana Pacers in their game against the Boston Celtics (49-33) in the NBA. Despite his very good performance in Wednesday night's game Young was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 6 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls. This season Young has very high stats. He averages 12.6ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.6apg and 1.6spg.

   #5. Trae Golden (6'3''-G-91, graduated '14, plays in Russia) was not able to secure a victory for Avtodor (9-15) in their game against BC Nizhny Novgorod (13-11) in the VTB United League, despite his very good performance last Sunday. Golden was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 6 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 34 minutes. But Avtodor lost 85-91 on their home court in Saratov to the higher-ranked (#7) BC Nizhny Novgorod. There are only two games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Golden's first season with the team. Golden has very impressive stats this year 18.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 8.3apg in 24 games.

   #6. Gani Lawal (6'9''-F/C-88, graduated '10, currently in Japan) couldn't help Shiga L-Stars in their game against Diamond Dolphins in the Japanese B League. Despite his very good performance on Sunday night Lawal recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. This season Lawal has very high stats. He averages 21.0ppg, 12.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.5bpg. Lawal is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #7. Adam Smith (6'1''-PG-92, graduated '16, plays pro in Italy) couldn't help Orasi RAV in their game against Bakery PIA in the Italian Serie A2 (second division), despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game. Smith was the top scorer with 33 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 41 minutes. But his team was edged 92-90. Smith has very impressive stats this year 23.7ppg, 4.0rpg and 2.9apg in 29 games.

   #8. Ben Lammers (6'10''-C-95, graduated '18, plays in Spain) contributed to a 3-point RETAbet BB's victory against the 15th-ranked Melilla Baloncesto 62-59 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Sunday. Lammers recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. He has relatively good stats this season 10.2ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.1bpg and 1.1spg.

   #9. Daniel Miller (6'11''-C-91, graduated '14, currently in Japan) contributed to a Sendai 89ers' victory against the leader Gunma 97-86 in the Japanese B2 League on Sunday night. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Miller also added 6 assists and 3 steals in 37 minutes. He has relatively good stats this year 14.9ppg, 11.8rpg, 3.9apg, 1.7bpg and 1.4spg in 54 games.

   #10. Experienced Anthony McHenry (6'8''-SF-83, graduated '05, plays pro in Japan) was the major contributor in a Shinshu BW's victory against the second-ranked Toyotsu FE 78-60 in the Japanese B2 League in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 13 rebounds. McHenry also added 6 assists. This season he has very high stats. McHenry averages 18.3ppg, 10.1rpg, 5.4apg, 1.4bpg and 1.9spg.
