Top University of Tennessee alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Volunteers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Tobias Harris (6'9''-PF-92, college: Tennessee, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) was the major contributor in a Philadelphia 76ers' victory against the Brooklyn Nets (42-40) 131-115 in the NBA in Thursday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 16 rebounds. Harris also added 3 assists in 36 minutes. The Philadelphia 76ers have a solid 51-31 record this season. Harris has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 18.1ppg, 8.0rpg and 3.0apg in 30 games he played so far.

   #2. Jarnell Stokes (6'7''-F-94, college: Tennessee, graduated '14, plays in China) led Xinjiang Flying Tigers to a victory over the closely-ranked Flying Leopards (38-8) crushing them 107-81 in the Chinese CBA last Tuesday. Stokes was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 12 rebounds. Stokes also added 2 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Xinjiang Flying Tigers (33-13) are placed fourth in the CBA. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. This season Stokes has very high stats. He averages 24.6ppg, 12.0rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg.

   #3. Experienced Tyler Smith (6'7''-F-86, college: Tennessee, graduated '10, currently in Israel), who plays in the Israeli National League (second division) could not help Elitzur Ironi Ashkelon (14-12) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Elitzur Ironi Ashkelon was badly defeated 73-55 on the road by the second-ranked H.Galilee. Smith was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 4 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 2 shots in 37 minutes. It's Smith's first season with the team. Smith has very impressive stats this year 16.0ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg in 22 games.

   #4. Armani Moore (6'4''-F-94, college: Tennessee, graduated '16, plays pro in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Telekom Baskets (15-12) crushing them 88-67 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. Moore recorded 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and made 3 blocks. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (7-10) is placed seventh in the BBL. Moore has relatively good stats this season 10.7ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.7apg.

   #5. John Fields (6'9''-F/C-88, college: Tennessee, graduated '11, plays in Singapore) was the main contributor in a Jobstreet.com Singapore Slingers' victory against the closely-ranked Hong Kong ELL (13-13) crushing them 101-70 in the ASEAN League last Friday. Fields was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 14 rebounds. Fields also added 2 blocks in 37 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Jobstreet.com Singapore Slingers (16-10) is placed third in the ASEAN League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Fields has very impressive stats this year 22.7ppg, 12.5rpg, 1.8apg, 1.8bpg and 1.4spg in 31 games.

   #6. Derek Reese (6'7''-F-93, college: Tennessee, graduated '16, currently in Puerto Rico) managed to help Leones de Ponce to win against the closely-ranked Santeros 112-110 in the Puerto Rican BSN on Wednesday night. Reese scored only one point. This season Reese averages 3.1ppg and 4.9rpg. He is a naturalized Puerto Rican.

   #7. Cameron Tatum (6'7''-SF-88, college: Tennessee, graduated '12, plays pro in Brazil) was not able to help Rio Claro (5-7) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Rio Claro lost 83-89 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Sao Paulo FC. Tatum was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. Tatum has very impressive stats this year 15.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg in 12 games.
