We bring you last week's top former Cougars players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. D.J. Shelton (6'10''-F-91, college: WSU, graduated '14, plays pro in Turkey) was the major contributor in a Banvit Basketbol Kulubu's victory against the closely-ranked Darussafaka (10-14) 89-82 in the Turkish BSL in Sunday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 10 rebounds in 37 minutes. Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (11-13) is placed eighth in the BSL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Shelton's first season with the team. Shelton has relatively good stats this year 13.4ppg and 6.1rpg in 17 games he played so far.

   #2. Ike Iroegbu (6'2''-G-95, college: WSU, graduated '17, plays in Lithuania) led Lietkabelis to an easy victory against the league outsider Nevezis (5-26) crushing them 101-60 in the Lithuanian LKL last Sunday. Iroegbu scored 18 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 5 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Panevezys Lietkabelis (19-11) is placed fourth in the LKL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Iroegbu has relatively good stats this season 15.0ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.6apg.

   #3. Josh Hawkinson (6'10''-F-95, college: WSU, graduated '17, currently in Japan) led Toyotsu FE to a 1-point victory over the leader Shinshu BW (46-12) 73-72 in the Japanese B2 League on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Hawkinson had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 6 assists and 2 blocks in 38 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Hawkinson's second season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Central. Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya (40-18) is placed second. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Hawkinson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 21.0ppg, 10.4rpg and 3.5apg in 52 games.

   #4. Klay Thompson (6'7''-G-90, college: WSU, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Golden State Warriors (57-25) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Golden State Warriors (57-25) were defeated 132-117 on the road by the Memphis Grizzlies. Thompson was the second best scorer with 19 points. He also added 3 passes. There are only three games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Thompson's eighth season with the team. This year Thompson has very high stats. He averages 21.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg. Thompson is a naturalized Bahamian.

   #5. Charles Callison (6'0''-PG-95, college: WSU, graduated '17, plays in Denmark) led Horsens IC to a victory against the third-ranked Naestved (14-10) 89-78 in the Danish BasketLigaen last Thursday. Callison had a double-double by scoring 16 points and making 11 passes. He also added 4 rebounds and 3 steals in 37 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group ProA. Horsens IC (18-6) is placed second. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Callison has very impressive stats this year 16.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 4.2apg and 2.3spg in 26 games.

   #6. Experienced Aron Baynes (6'10''-C-86, college: WSU, graduated '09, currently in the NBA) managed to help Boston Celtics to win against the Indiana Pacers 99-91 in the NBA on Wednesday night. Baynes scored 5 points. This season Baynes averages 5.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.1apg. He has also New Zealand nationality.

   #7. Davonte Lacy (6'4''-G-93, college: WSU, graduated '15, plays pro in Germany) was not able to help PS Karlsruhe Lions (16-14) in their last game. Despite Lacy's very good performance PS Karlsruhe Lions lost 75-86 on the opponent's court to the leading Chemnitz. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Lacy also added 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. Lacy has very impressive stats this year 16.8ppg, 3.4rpg, 4.1apg and 1.3spg in 29 games.

   #8. Que Johnson (6'6''-G-92, played in 2012-16, plays in Brazil) was not able to secure a victory for Blumenau in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Johnson's very good performance his team was defeated 74-66 by the one of league's weakest teams Pato Basquete (#7). He was the top scorer with 18 points. This season Johnson has very high stats. He averages 15.1ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.9apg and 1.4spg.

   #9. Marcus Capers (6'4''-G-89, college: WSU, graduated '12, currently in Canada) contributed to a London Lightning's victory against the Titans 100-94 in the NBLCanada on Saturday night. He recorded 9 points in 15 minutes. Capers has relatively good stats this year 10.1ppg, 5.5rpg, 3.1apg, 1.1bpg and 1.1spg in 41 games.
