Every week we bring you a list of the top former Terrapins players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Niklas Caner-Medley (6'8''-F-83, college: Maryland, graduated '06, plays pro in Spain) led Movistar Estudiantes Madrid to a victory over the closely-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (8-17) crushing them 95-62 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Caner-Medley recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 32 minutes. Movistar Estudiantes Madrid (10-16) is placed 13th in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. This season Caner-Medley averages 7.9ppg, 8.4rpg and 1.3apg. He is a naturalized Azerbaijani.

   #2. Alex Len (7'1''-C-93, college: Maryland, graduated '13, plays in the NBA) could not help the Atlanta Hawks (29-53) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Atlanta Hawks (29-53) were edged 135-134 on the road by the Indiana Pacers. Len had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists and 3 blocks. It was Hawks' third consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the NBA. Len has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 11.1ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.1apg in 77 games he played so far.

   #3. James Gist (6'9''-C/F-86, college: Maryland, graduated '08, currently in Greece) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked AEK (17-7) crushing them 104-72 in a derby game in the Greek A1 last Wednesday. Gist scored 8 points in 17 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens (19-1) is placed first in the A1. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Gist's seventh season with the team. This year he averages 7.4ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.2apg.

   #4. Melo Trimble (6'3''-G-95, college: Maryland, graduated '18, plays pro in Puerto Rico) was not able to help Piratas de Quebradillas (11-6) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Piratas de Quebradillas lost 75-84 in Fajardo to the lower-ranked (#5) Cariduros. Trimble was the top scorer with 27 points. He also added 6 passes (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line); quite an impressive performance considering it's only Trimble's first season in pro basketball. It was Piratas de Quebradillas' third consecutive loss in a row. Trimble has very impressive stats this year 16.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 6.0apg in 16 games.

   #5. Haukur Palsson (6'6''-SF-92, college: Maryland, graduated '11, plays in France) contributed to a JSF Nanterre's victory against the 14th-ranked Le Mans (10-17) 84-75 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA in Saturday night's game. Palsson scored 11 points and added 3 assists in 26 minutes. JSF Nanterre (18-9) is placed third in the Jeep ELITE ProA. It's Palsson's first season with the team. This year he averages 9.2ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.0apg.

   #6. Jake Layman (6'9''-G/F-94, college: Maryland, graduated '16, currently in the NBA) helped Portland Trail Blazers win their game against the Sacramento Kings 136-131 in the NBA last Wednesday. Layman scored 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. He has relatively good stats this year 7.5ppg and 3.1rpg in 72 games.

   #7. Kevin Huerter (6'7''-G-98, college: Maryland, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Alex Len and both played together in the last NBA game. Huerter was not able to secure a victory for the Atlanta Hawks (29-53) in their game last Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Atlanta Hawks were edged 135-134 in Indianapolis by the Indiana Pacers. Huerter scored 17 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 30 minutes. He has relatively good stats this season 9.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.9apg.

   #8. Adrian Bowie (6'3''-PG-89, college: Maryland, graduated '11, plays in Georgia) was the major contributor in Mgzavrebi's victory against the sixth-ranked Olimpi 84-72 in a derby game in the Georgian Superleague in Saturday night's game. Bowie had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 9 assists (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). Bowie has very impressive stats this year 20.2ppg, 8.2rpg, 6.5apg and 1.9spg in 17 games.

   #9. Robert Carter (6'9''-F-94, college: Maryland, graduated '16, currently in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish BSL couldn't help Afyon Belediyespor (1-15) in their game last Friday. Despite Carter's very good performance Afyon Belediyespor was crushed 96-72 in Istanbul by the second-ranked Fenerbahce. He was the top scorer with 16 points. Carter also added 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. He has relatively good stats this season 10.2ppg, 5.2rpg and 2.2apg.

   #10. D.J. Strawberry (6'5''-SG-85, college: Maryland, graduated '07, plays pro in Spain) managed to help Herbalife Gran Canaria in a victory against the closely-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada 93-88 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. He scored 5 points and added 4 assists. Strawberry has relatively good stats this year 10.2ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.9apg in 27 games. He is a naturalized Cameroonian.
