Best performed former Univ.of North Carolina at Greensboro players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Spartans alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Kyle Hines (6'6''-C-86, played in 2004-08, plays pro in Russia) led his Russian team CSKA to a victory over the sixth-ranked Astana (14-10) 91-72 in the VTB United League last Thursday. He was MVP of the game. Hines scored 18 points in 20 minutes. CSKA Moscow (22-4) is placed first in the VTB United League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the VTB United League. It's Hines' sixth season with the team. This year he averages 7.5ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.3apg in 15 games he played so far.

   #2. Ricky Hickman (6'3''-SG-85, graduated '07, plays in Germany) was the main contributor in a Brose Baskets Bamberg's victory against the 16th-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (7-20) 101-92 in the German BBL on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Hickman recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and making 10 passes. He also added 6 rebounds (made all of his six free throws). Brose Baskets Bamberg (19-8) is placed fifth in the BBL. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Hickman has relatively good stats this season 11.6ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.3apg. He is a naturalized Georgian.

   #3. Nicholas Paulos (6'7''-G/F-91, graduated '15, currently in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketligan could not help KFUM Jamtland Basket (23-13) in their last game. Despite his very good performance KFUM Jamtland Basket lost 91-100 on the road to the leading Sodertalje Kings. Paulos scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 29 minutes. It's Paulos' first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 10.7ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.3apg in 43 games. Paulos is a naturalized Greek.

   #4. Kayel Locke (6'5''-F-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Holland) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Amsterdam (10-23) crushing them 87-63 in the Dutch Eredivisie last Saturday. Locke recorded 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Landstede Basketbal Zwolle (26-4) is placed second in the Eredivisie. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This season Locke averages 7.5ppg and 3.3rpg.

   #5. Mikko Koivisto (6'5''-SG-87, graduated '10, plays in Finland) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked BC Nokia (16-23) 108-89 in the Finnish Korisliiga on Tuesday night. Koivisto recorded 15 points in a mere 19 minutes. Salon Vilpas Vikings (32-7) is placed first in the Korisliiga. The Regular Season already ended. This year Koivisto averages 8.7ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.8apg in 38 games.

   #6. Trevis Simpson (6'4''-G/F-91, graduated '13, currently in Italy) contributed to a GSA Udine's victory against the fourth-ranked Tezenis VER 76-71 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Simpson scored 24 points and added 5 assists. Simpson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 16.3ppg, 3.8rpg and 3.1apg.

   #7. Diante Baldwin (5'11''-PG-94, graduated '17, plays pro in Finland) managed to help KTP Basket Kotka in a victory against the closely-ranked Kauhajoki 98-79 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Tuesday. He recorded only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. This year Baldwin averages 7.0ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.7apg in three games.
