EuroBasket Pro 49ers Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former 49ers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Casper Ware (5'10''-PG-90, graduated '12, plays pro in Poland) led BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wlkp. to a 3-point victory over the league outsider Trefl (6-21) 96-93 in the Polish EBL in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Ware scored 34 points (!!!), made 4 passes and 3 steals (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) in 29 minutes. BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (19-8) is placed fifth in the EBL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Ware has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.7ppg, 2.0rpg, 4.0apg and 2.0spg in three games he played so far.

   #2. T.J. Robinson (6'8''-F-89, graduated '12, plays in Chile) could not help Temuco (20-11) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the first-placed Temuco (20-11) was edged 93-90 on the road by the lower-ranked Los Leones (#3) in the Conferencia Centro. Robinson was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 7 rebounds. It's Robinson's first season with the team. This year Robinson has very high stats. He averages 20.9ppg, 10.6rpg, 3.0apg and 1.2spg.

   #3. Eugene Phelps (6'6''-F-90, graduated '12, currently in Puerto Rico) led Atleticos de San German to a victory over the closely-ranked Capitanes (7-10) 91-83 in the Puerto Rican BSN on Tuesday night. He was MVP of the game. Phelps had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 14 rebounds in 38 minutes. Atleticos de San Germanis placed fourth in the BSN. Phelps has very impressive stats this year 21.3ppg, 12.3rpg and 3.0apg in three games.

   #4. Nick Faust (6'6''-SF-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Hungary) was the main contributor in Atomeromu's victory against the fourth-ranked Sopron KC (13-15) 101-83 in the Hungarian A Division in Saturday night's game. Faust was MVP of the game. He scored 26 points (!!!), grabbed 8 boards, handed out 4 passes and blocked 2 shots; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Faust's third season in pro basketball. Atomeromu SE Paks (14-14) is placed second in Places 6-10 group. It's Faust's first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 14.9ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.2apg and 1.8spg.

   #5. Larry Anderson (6'5''-G-89, graduated '12, plays in Finland) contributed to a 2-point Lapuan Korikobrat's victory against the closely-ranked Kouvot (19-20) 78-76 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Wednesday. He recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals in 38 minutes. Lapuan Korikobrat (15-24) is placed ninth in the Korisliiga. Anderson's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Anderson has very impressive stats this year 17.7ppg, 6.4rpg, 3.9apg and 1.8spg in 39 games.

   #6. James Ennis (6'7''-F/G-90, graduated '13, currently in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Brooklyn Nets crushing them 145-123 in the NBA on Monday night. Ennis scored 6 points. This season Ennis averages 5.3ppg and 3.6rpg.

   #7. David Samuels (6'8''-F/C-91, graduated '15, plays pro in Spain) was not able to help Estela (15-15) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the sixth-placed Estela lost 68-76 at home to the leading HLA Alicante in the West group. Samuels was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 36 minutes. Samuels has relatively good stats this year 11.1ppg, 7.9rpg and 1.3spg in 11 games. He is a naturalized Jamaican.

   #8. Kyle Richardson (6'7''-PF-91, played in 2009-13, plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Koshigaya Alphas (4-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Koshigaya Alphas were defeated 99-84 in Gifu by the one of league's weakest teams Swoops (#6). Richardson recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 14 rebounds. This season Richardson has very high stats. He averages 22.7ppg, 11.2rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg.
