Best performed former Arizona State University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Sun Devils alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. James Harden (6'5''-SG-89, graduated '09, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Houston Rockets (53-29) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Houston Rockets (53-29) were edged 112-111 on the road by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Harden had a double-double by scoring 39 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 37 minutes. It was Rockets' first loss after six consecutive victories. There are only three games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Harden's seventh season with the team. Harden has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 36.1ppg, 6.6rpg, 7.5apg and 2.1spg in 78 games he played so far.

   #2. Shaquielle McKissic (6'5''-SF-90, graduated '15, plays in Turkey) was not able to help Gaziantep Basketbol (14-10) in their last game on Saturday. Despite McKissic's very good performance Gaziantep Basketbol was defeated 77-67 in Bursa by the higher-ranked Tofas (#3). He was the top scorer with 18 points. McKissic also added 9 rebounds. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's McKissic's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 12.6ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.0apg and 1.6spg.

   #3. Gerry Blakes (6'4''-G-93, graduated '16, currently in Italy), who plays in the Italian Serie A was not able to secure a victory for MIA-RO Cantu (13-13) in their last game. Despite his very good performance MIA-RO Cantu lost 90-94 in Venezia to the second-ranked Umana. Blakes scored 16 points and added 6 passes in 36 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Blakes' first year with the team. Blakes has relatively good stats this season 12.1ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.6apg in 25 games.

   #4. Jeff Ayres (6'9''-F-87, graduated '09, plays pro in Japan) led Ryukyu GK to a victory over the second-ranked Diamond Dolphins (31-27) 75-68 in the Japanese B League last Wednesday. Ayres was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 3 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (38-20) is placed first. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. It's Ayres' first season with the team. This year Ayres has very high stats. He averages 15.1ppg, 9.2rpg and 1.6apg.

   #5. Eric Jacobsen (6'10''-PF-94, graduated '16, plays in Japan) couldn't help Fukuoka Rizing (12-46) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the sixth-placed Fukuoka Rizing (12-46) lost 71-80 at home to the higher-ranked (#4) Osaka Evessa in the West group. Jacobsen had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds in 38 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Jacobsen has very impressive stats this year 15.9ppg, 8.4rpg and 2.1apg in 34 games.

   #6. Tra Holder (6'1''-G-95, graduated '18, currently in Germany), who plays in the German BBL couldn't help Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt (11-16) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Holder's good performance Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt was defeated 91-87 in Muenchen by the leading Bayern. He scored 11 points. This season Holder averages 6.9ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.2apg.

   #7. Ruslan Pateev (7'0''-C-90, graduated '13, plays pro in Poland) couldn't help Legia Warszawa in their game against MKS Dabrowa Gornicza in the Polish EBL. Pateev scored 8 points in just 12 minutes. His team was edged 77-75. This year Pateev averages 7.0ppg and 4.0rpg in 26 games.

   #8. Willie Atwood (6'7''-F-94, graduated '16, plays in United Kingdom) couldn't help Surrey Scorchers (5-23) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Surrey Scorchers was crushed 93-70 in London by the leading Lions. Atwood was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 9 rebounds. Atwood has relatively good stats this season 11.0ppg, 6.3rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg.

   #9. Jonathan Gilling (6'8''-F-91, graduated '15, currently in Spain) couldn't help Melilla Baloncesto in their game against RETAbet BB in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). He recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 39 minutes. His team was edged 62-59. This year Gilling averages 6.9ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.3apg in 27 games.
