Top Brigham Young University alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Cougars players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Elijah Bryant (6'5''-G-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Israel) led Hapoel Eilat to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Ironi Nahariya (7-19) crushing them 90-69 in the Israeli Winner League on Monday night. He was MVP of the game. Bryant recorded 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 29 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. Hapoel Eilat (18-9) is placed fourth in the Winner League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Bryant's first year with the team. Bryant has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 17.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg.

   #2. Brandon Davies (6'10''-C-91, graduated '13, plays in Lithuania) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Siauliai (6-24) crushing them 109-83 in the Lithuanian LKL in Sunday night's game. He recorded 10 points. B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (26-3) is placed first in the LKL. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Davies has relatively good stats this year 12.0ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg in 26 games he played so far.

   #3. Eric Mika (6'10''-F-95, graduated '17, currently in Germany), who plays in the German BBL could not help medi Bayreuth (12-15) in their game last Saturday. Despite Mika's very good performance medi Bayreuth was defeated 90-81 on the road by the second-ranked EWE Baskets. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Mika also added 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) in 25 minutes. Mika has relatively good stats this season 13.3ppg and 5.1rpg.

   #4. Agustin Ambrosino (6'8''-C/F-90, graduated '13, plays pro in Argentina) was not able to help Estudiantes Concordia (16-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance Estudiantes Concordia lost 84-90 in Corrientes to the lower-ranked (#11) San Martin. Ambrosino scored 12 points. This year Ambrosino averages 4.7ppg and 2.5rpg in 22 games. He has also Argentinian nationality. Ambrosino is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

   #5. Charles Abouo (6'5''-G/F-89, graduated '12, plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for ADA Blois Basket 41 (13-12) in their game against JA Vichy (19-7) in the French ProB (second division). Despite his very good performance in Friday night's game Abouo was the top scorer with 14 points in 32 minutes. Abouo has relatively good stats this season 11.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized Ivorian.

   #6. Tyler Haws (6'4''-G-91, graduated '15, currently in Spain) couldn't help Levitec Huesca in their game against Lleida Basquet in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division), despite his very good performance last Friday. He was the top scorer with 16 points. But his team was edged 77-74. Haws has relatively good stats this year 13.2ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.7apg in 31 games. He is a naturalized Belgian.

   #7. Jonathan Tavernari (6'6''-SF-87, graduated '10, plays pro in Italy) couldn't help Givova Scafati in their game against Virtus Roma in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Despite his good performance on Sunday night He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. This season Tavernari averages 7.6ppg and 2.9rpg. He has also Italian nationality.
