Best performed former Wichita State University players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Shockers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Conner Frankamp (6'1''-PG-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Bulgaria) led Beroe to a victory over the sixth-ranked Spartak Pleven (9-12) crushing them 100-78 in the Bulgarian NBL last Thursday. He was MVP of the game. Frankamp scored 20 points, made 7 passes and 3 steals in 30 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. BC Beroe (10-2) is placed first in the NBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Frankamp's first year with the team. Frankamp has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 19.8ppg, 2.8rpg, 4.1apg and 1.6spg in 20 games he played so far.

   #2. Clevin Hannah (5'11''-PG-87, graduated '10, plays in Spain) could not help Gran Canaria (13-13) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Gran Canaria was defeated 77-71 at home by the second-ranked Real Madrid. Hannah was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 5 passes. It's Hannah's first season with the team. Hannah has relatively good stats this year 11.9ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.9apg. He is a naturalized Senegalese.

   #3. Garrett Stutz (7'0''-C-90, graduated '12, currently in Japan) was the main contributor in a Toyotsu FE's victory against the sixth-ranked Tokyo HT (11-47) crushing them 100-59 in the Japanese B2 League in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Stutz had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 27 minutes. Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya (39-18) is placed second in Central group. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Stutz's first season with the team. Stutz has very impressive stats this year 21.2ppg, 13.2rpg and 4.0apg in 51 games.

   #4. Gal Mekel (6'3''-PG-88, graduated '08, plays pro in Russia) was not able to help Zenit Sankt Petersburg (14-8) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Mekel's good performance Zenit Sankt Petersburg was defeated 83-73 on the road by the leading CSKA. He scored 11 points and added 7 assists. There are only four games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This season Mekel averages 7.9ppg, 1.7rpg and 5.2apg.

   #5. Landry Shamet (6'4''-G-97, graduated '18, plays in the NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Los Angeles Clippers (48-34) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Los Angeles Clippers (48-34) were crushed 131-104 in Oakland by the Golden State Warriors. Shamet was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 4 passes in 31 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Shamet's first season in pro basketball. It was Clippers' third consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Shamet has relatively good stats this year 10.9ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.3apg in 25 games.

   #6. Fred VanVleet (6'0''-PG-94, graduated '16, currently in the NBA) was the major contributor in a Toronto Raptors' victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves crushing them 120-100 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. He scored 16 points, made 4 passes and 3 steals. VanVleet has relatively good stats this season 11.0ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.8apg.

   #7. Darral Willis (6'9''-F-96, graduated '18, plays pro in Cyprus) contributed to Keravnos' victory against the closely-ranked Apoel 80-74 in the Cypriot Division A last Tuesday. He was MVP of the game. Willis had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks in 35 minutes. Willis has very impressive stats this year 15.5ppg and 9.9rpg in 26 games.

   #8. Kadeem Coleby (6'9''-C/F-89, graduated '14, plays in Japan) contributed to an Akita Northern Happinets' victory against the sixth-ranked Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo 79-66 in the Japanese B League on Saturday night. He scored 14 points, had 9 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Coleby has relatively good stats this season 12.9ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.4apg, 2.3bpg and 1.1spg. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

   #9. Tekele Cotton (6'3''-G-93, graduated '15, currently in Italy) contributed to a Fiat TO's surprising victory against the sixth-ranked Openjobmetis VA 72-66 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night's game. He recorded 11 points and added 3 assists in 33 minutes. Cotton has relatively good stats this year 10.7ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.5apg and 1.2spg in 14 games.

   #10. Rauno Nurger (6'10''-C-93, graduated '18, plays pro in Spain) helped Levitec Huesca win their game against the closely-ranked Castello 82-79 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Saturday. Nurger was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points. Nurger has relatively good stats this season 12.8ppg and 6.3rpg.
