Top University of Arizona alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Wildcats alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Derrick Williams (6'8''-F-91, graduated '11, plays pro in Germany) led his German team FC Bayern Muenchen to a victory over the closely-ranked Gran Canaria (8-22) 84-77 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Williams scored 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. FC Bayern Muenchen (14-16) is placed 12th in the Euroleague. The Regular Season already ended in the Euroleague. It's Williams' first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 13.4ppg and 4.2rpg in 29 games he played so far.

   #2. Aaron Gordon (6'9''-PF-95, graduated '14, plays in the NBA) was the major contributor in an Orlando Magic's victory against the Charlotte Hornets (39-43) 122-114 in the NBA last Wednesday. He scored 27 points (!!!), had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Orlando Magic has 42-40 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Gordon's fifth year with the team. Gordon has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 16.0ppg, 7.3rpg and 3.7apg.

   #3. Nick Johnson (6'3''-G-92, graduated '14, currently in France), who plays in the French Jeep ELITE ProA could not help JSF Nanterre (17-9) in their last game. Despite Johnson's good performance JSF Nanterre was crushed 90-68 on the road by the much lower-ranked (#11) Boulazac Basket. He was the top scorer with 14 points. Johnson also added 4 passes in 26 minutes. It was JSF Nanterre's first loss after five consecutive victories. This year Johnson averages 8.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.0apg in three games.

   #4. T.J. McConnell (6'1''-PG-92, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Chicago Bulls (22-60) 125-109 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. McConnell scored 18 points and added 6 passes. The Philadelphia 76ers have a solid 51-31 record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's McConnell's fourth year with the team. This season he averages 6.4ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.4apg.

   #5. Keanu Pinder (6'9''-F/G-95, graduated '18, plays in Poland) contributed to a 3-point Legia Warszawa's victory against the league outsider Miasto Szkla (5-21) 88-85 in the Polish EBL last Sunday. Pinder had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 12 rebounds in 20 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. Legia Warszawais placed second in the EBL. It's Pinder's first year with the team. This season Pinder averages 6.2ppg and 3.4rpg in 21 games.

   #6. Kadeem Allen (6'3''-G-93, graduated '17, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the New York Knicks (17-65) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance the New York Knicks were crushed 115-89 in Detroit by the Pistons. Allen was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 5 rebounds and dished 8 assists. Allen has relatively good stats this season 9.9ppg, 2.7rpg and 4.0apg.

   #7. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (6'7''-F-95, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Miami Heat 113-94 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 12 rebounds. Hollis-Jefferson also added 3 assists and 3 steals in 26 minutes. He has relatively good stats this year 8.9ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg in 59 games.

   #8. Solomon Hill (6'7''-F-91, graduated '13, plays in the NBA) contributed to a New Orleans Pelicans' victory against the Sacramento Kings 133-129 in the NBA last Sunday. Hill recorded 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season he averages 4.3ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg.

   #9. Mark Tollefsen (6'9''-PF-92, graduated '16, currently in Israel) helped Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia win their game against the fifth-ranked Beer Sheva 97-88 in the Israeli Winner League on Sunday night. Tollefsen recorded 19 points and blocked 3 blocks in 30 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year 20.6ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.1apg in 19 games.

   #10. Kaleb Tarczewski (7'0''-C-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for AX Armani Exchange Milano in their game against Banco di Srd in the Italian Serie A. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Tarczewski recorded only 2 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. His team was defeated 93-79. He has relatively good stats this season 11.9ppg and 5.6rpg.
