Every week we bring you a list of the top former Hoyas players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Mikael Hopkins (6'9''-F-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Bulgaria) led his Bulgarian team Balkan to a 1-point victory over the sixth-ranked Hapoel Holon 83-82 in the FIBA Europe Cup in Tuesday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Hopkins had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 4 blocks in 32 minutes. Balkan Botevgrad (3-3) is placed second in group J. It's Hopkins' first season with the team. Hopkins has relatively good stats this year 14.7ppg, 8.3rpg, 2.4apg and 2.1bpg in 16 games he played so far.

   #2. Otto Porter (6'8''-F-93, graduated '13, plays in the NBA) could not help the Chicago Bulls (19-50) in their last game on Friday. Despite Porter's very good performance the Chicago Bulls (19-50) were defeated 112-104 on the road by the Detroit Pistons. He was the second best scorer with 23 points. Porter also added 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Porter has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 18.4ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.0apg and 1.3spg.

   #3. Markel Starks (6'2''-G-91, graduated '14, currently in Poland), who plays in Poland was not able to help Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora (4-14) in their last game. Despite Starks' good performance Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora was crushed 115-74 in Moscow by the leading CSKA. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Starks also added 5 assists in a mere 19 minutes. It was Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora's third consecutive loss in a row. His team will play only one more game in the VTB United League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Starks has relatively good stats this year 11.6ppg, 1.9rpg and 4.8apg in 16 games.

   #4. Greg Whittington (6'8''-F-93, graduated '13, plays pro in Israel) led Hapoel Galil Gilboa to a 1-point victory over the league outsider Bnei Hasharon (4-17) 90-89 in the Israeli Winner League in Thursday night's game. Whittington was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 15 rebounds. Whittington also added 3 assists (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). Hapoel Galil Gilboa (9-12) is placed seventh in the Winner League. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. It's Whittington's first season with the team. This year Whittington has very high stats. He averages 16.7ppg, 8.7rpg, 2.6apg and 1.3spg.

   #5. Henry Sims (6'10''-C-90, graduated '12, plays in Italy) was the major contributor in an Virtus Roma's victory against the 14th-ranked Bertram TRT (9-15) 79-66 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) last Sunday. He had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 12 rebounds. Sims also added 2 blocks (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in 33 minutes. Acea Virtus Roma (17-7) is placed first in West group. It's Sims' first season with the team. He has very impressive stats this year 20.1ppg, 11.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.8bpg in 24 games.

   #6. Joshua Smith (6'10''-C-92, graduated '15, currently in Japan) led Toyama Grouses to a 2-point victory over the leader Ryukyu GK 80-78 in the Japanese B League on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Smith scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. This season he has very high stats. Smith averages 19.1ppg, 10.7rpg, 3.0apg and 1.1spg.

   #7. Experienced Jeff Green (6'9''-F-86, graduated '07, plays pro in the NBA) led Washington Wizards to a victory against the Dallas Mavericks 132-123 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Green scored 16 points in 29 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year 12.4ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.9apg in 66 games.

   #8. Chris Wright (6'1''-PG-89, graduated '11, plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked VL Pesaro crushing them 105-68 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. Wright scored 12 points. He has relatively good stats this season 14.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 4.3apg.

   #9. Jason Clark (6'2''-G-90, graduated '12, currently in Germany) contributed to a Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt's surprising victory against the seventh-ranked BG Goettingen 81-70 in the German BBL on Saturday night. He scored 12 points and added 4 assists in 22 minutes. Clark has relatively good stats this year 13.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.3apg in 19 games.

   #10. Hollis Thompson (6'8''-SF-91, graduated '12, plays pro in the NBA G League) was not able to secure a victory for the Northern Arizona Suns (11-35) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Thompson's very good performance the Northern Arizona Suns (#5) were defeated 120-107 in Ontario by the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario. He was the second best scorer with 19 points. Thompson also added 4 rebounds. This season he has very high stats. Thompson averages 15.8ppg, 6.6rpg and 2.6apg.
