Best performed former The University of Virginia players in pro basketball in last week games

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Cavaliers players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Mike Tobey (7'0''-C-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Spain) led his Spanish team Valencia Basket to a victory over the closely-ranked Rytas (3-3) 71-56 in the Eurocup last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Tobey scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 20 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group G. Valencia Basket (6-0) is placed first. So far his team won all six games in the Quarter-Finals. It's Tobey's first year with the team. This season Tobey averages 8.6ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.1apg in 17 games he played so far.

   #2. Darion Atkins (6'8''-F-92, graduated '15, plays in Israel) could not help Hapoel Unet Holon in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Atkins' very good performance Hapoel Unet Holon was edged 83-82 on the road by the second-ranked Balkan. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Atkins also added 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. It's Atkins' first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 14.0ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5bpg.

   #3. Sylven Landesberg (6'6''-F/G-90, graduated '10, currently in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish BSL was not able to help Turk Telekom (8-14) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Turk Telekom lost 76-84 at home to the second-ranked Anadolu Efes. Landesberg was the second best scorer with 20 points in 36 minutes. It was Turk Telekom's eighth consecutive loss in a row. It's Landesberg's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Landesberg averages 20.2ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg in 19 games. He is a naturalized Austrian.

   #4. Malcolm Brogdon (6'5''-G-92, graduated '16, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Charlotte Hornets (30-37) 131-114 in the NBA last Saturday. He scored 18 points and added 4 assists; not bad, considering it's only Brogdon's third season in pro basketball. The Milwaukee Bucks have a solid 51-17 record this season. This year Brogdon has very high stats. He averages 15.9ppg, 4.6rpg and 3.2apg.

   #5. Jerome Meyinsse (6'10''-C-88, graduated '10, plays in Argentina) contributed to a San Lorenzo's victory against the closely-ranked Gimnasia (14-7) 87-82 in the Argentinian La Liga on Monday night. Meyinsse recorded 14 points in 20 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. San Lorenzo de Almagra (17-1) is placed first in the La Liga. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Meyinsse has relatively good stats this year 10.7ppg and 4.7rpg in 18 games.

   #6. Joe Harris (6'6''-G-91, graduated '14, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to secure a victory for the Brooklyn Nets (36-34) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Harris' good performance the Brooklyn Nets were defeated 108-96 in Oklahoma City by the Thunder. He scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Harris has very high stats. He averages 13.6ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.5apg.

   #7. Mike Scott (6'8''-F-88, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) helped Philadelphia 76ers win their game against the Indiana Pacers 106-89 in the NBA last Sunday. Scott scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. Scott has relatively good stats this year 8.3ppg and 3.2rpg in 14 games.

   #8. Akil Mitchell (6'9''-F-92, graduated '14, plays in France) helped Boulazac Basket Dordogne win their game against one of league's weakest teams Provence Basket crushing them 81-52 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Saturday night. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Mitchell averages 9.2ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg. He is a naturalized Panamanian.

   #9. Isaiah Wilkins (6'8''-F-95, graduated '18, currently in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Greensboro Swarm in their game against the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League. He recorded 5 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals in 32 minutes. His team lost 107-113 in the NBA G League. This year Wilkins averages 4.1ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.7apg in 42 games.

   #10. Justin Anderson (6'6''-G-93, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA) managed to help Atlanta Hawks to win against the Memphis Grizzlies crushing them 132-111 in the NBA last Wednesday. He scored only 4 points. This season Anderson averages 2.7ppg and 1.3rpg.
