Best performed former Duke University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Blue Devils alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Kyrie Irving (6'3''-G-92, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) led Boston Celtics to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers (31-36) 120-107 in the NBA last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Irving scored 30 points (!!!), grabbed 7 rebounds, passed 5 assists and added 2 blocks in 35 minutes. The Boston Celtics have a solid 41-27 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Irving has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 23.4ppg, 4.9rpg, 7.0apg and 1.6spg in 56 games he played so far. Irving is a naturalized Australian.

   #2. Frank Jackson (6'3''-G-98, graduated '17, plays in the NBA) could not help the New Orleans Pelicans (30-40) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Jackson's very good performance the New Orleans Pelicans (30-40) were defeated 128-116 on the road by the Atlanta Hawks. He was the second best scorer with 23 points. Jackson also added 6 rebounds. Jackson has relatively good stats this season 7.1ppg and 2.1rpg.

   #3. Jayson Tatum (6'8''-F-98, graduated '17, currently in the NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kyrie Irving. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Tatum was the main contributor in a 2-point Boston Celtics' victory against the Sacramento Kings (33-33) 111-109. He was MVP of the game. Tatum scored 24 points (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line) in 33 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. The Boston Celtics have a solid 41-27 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Tatum has very impressive stats this year 16.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg in 67 games.

   #4. Jabari Parker (6'8''-F-95, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to a Washington Wizards' victory against the Dallas Mavericks (27-40) 132-123 in the NBA last Wednesday. He scored 20 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Washington Wizards have 29-39 record this season. This year Parker has very high stats. He averages 13.9ppg, 6.9rpg and 3.1apg.

   #5. Justise Winslow (6'6''-F-96, graduated '15, plays in the NBA) helped Miami Heat win their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers (17-51) 126-110 in the NBA on Friday night. Winslow recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in 35 minutes. The Miami Heat has 32-35 record this season. It's Winslow's fourth year with the team. He has very impressive stats this year 12.6ppg, 5.5rpg, 4.3apg and 1.1spg in 60 games.

   #6. Luke Kennard (6'5''-G-96, graduated '17, currently in the NBA) was the major contributor in a Detroit Pistons' victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves 131-114 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Kennard scored 21 points and added 3 passes. He has relatively good stats this season 9.6ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.7apg.

   #7. Seth Curry (6'1''-PG-90, graduated '13, plays pro in the NBA) helped Portland Trail Blazers win their game against the Phoenix Suns 127-120 in the NBA last Saturday. Curry scored 22 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in 21 minutes. This year he averages 6.6ppg and 1.4rpg in 61 games.

   #8. Experienced J.J. Redick (6'4''-G-84, graduated '06, plays in the NBA) helped Philadelphia 76ers win their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-99 in the NBA on Tuesday night. Redick scored 17 points and added 3 passes. This season he has very high stats. Redick averages 17.6ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.7apg.

   #9. Tyus Jones (6'1''-PG-96, graduated '15, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the Minnesota Timberwolves (32-36) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were crushed 133-107 in Denver by the Nuggets. Jones was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 3 passes in 27 minutes. This year Jones averages 5.9ppg, 1.8rpg, 4.1apg and 1.3spg in 54 games.

   #10. Ryan Kelly (6'11''-PF-91, graduated '13, plays pro in Japan) helped Hitachi SunRockers Tokyo-Shibuya win their game against the leader Niigata Albirex 84-72 in the Japanese B League last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Kelly recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). This season Kelly has very high stats. He averages 20.2ppg, 10.5rpg, 4.1apg and 1.4spg.
