Top Louisiana Tech University alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Bulldogs players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Kyle Gibson (6'5''-G/F-87, graduated '11, plays pro in Turkey) led Besiktas to a victory against the 12th-ranked Buyukcekmece (6-12) 90-84 in the Turkish BSL in Saturday night's game. He recorded 14 points and added 4 assists in 27 minutes. Besiktas Sompo Japan Istanbul (11-8) is placed fifth in the BSL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Gibson averages 9.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.0apg in 15 games he played so far.

   #2. Raheem Appleby (6'3''-G-93, graduated '15, plays in Czech Republic) led USK Praha to a victory over the third-ranked NH Ostrava (6-19) crushing them 95-65 in the Czech Republic NBL last Saturday. Appleby was MVP of the game. He scored 30 points (!!!), had 4 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 9-12. USK Praha (9-16) is placed first. Appleby has relatively good stats this season 13.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.7apg and 1.4spg.

   #3. Experienced Paul Millsap (6'8''-F-85, graduated '06, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA could not help the Denver Nuggets (43-22) in their last game. Despite Millsap's very good performance the Denver Nuggets (43-22) lost 112-120 on the road to the New Orleans Pelicans. He recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks in 36 minutes. Millsap has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 12.5ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.3spg in 54 games.

   #4. Erik McCree (6'8''-F-93, graduated '17, plays pro in Italy) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams VL Pesaro (6-14) in their last game on Sunday. Despite McCree's very good performance VL Pesaro was defeated 92-86 at home by the higher-ranked Germani BR (#12). He was the top scorer with 26 points. McCree also added 5 rebounds. It's McCree's first season with the team. This year he has very high stats. McCree averages 19.7ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg.

   #5. Alex Hamilton (6'4''-G-93, graduated '16, plays in Israel) was not able to secure a victory for Rishon (9-11) in their last game. Despite Hamilton's very good performance Rishon was edged 94-92 on their home court in Rishon Le-Zion by the second-ranked Maccabi T-A. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Hamilton also added 6 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 44 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was Rishon's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Hamilton's first year with the team. Hamilton has very impressive stats this season 15.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 6.0apg and 1.6spg in 12 games.

   #6. Kenneth Smith (6'3''-G-93, graduated '15, currently in the NBA G League) contributed to a 1-point Grand Rapids Drive's victory against the Erie Bay Hawks 111-110 in the NBA G League on Friday night. Smith scored 13 points, had 5 boards, passed 8 assists and added 4 steals. This season he averages 9.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.2apg and 1.6spg.

   #7. Michale Kyser (6'10''-F-91, graduated '15, plays pro in Greece) couldn't help Aris in their game against Olympiacos in the Greek A1. Kyser scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. His team lost 67-76. This year he averages 5.7ppg and 3.9rpg in 17 games.

   #8. Stojan Gjuroski (6'8''-F-91, graduated '14, plays in Spain) couldn't help Levitec Huesca (14-11) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance Levitec Huesca was edged 88-87 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Melilla_Baloncesto. Gjuroski was the second best scorer with 19 points. He also added 4 rebounds. Gjuroski has relatively good stats this season 14.0ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.5apg.

   #9. Trevor Gaskins (6'2''-PG-89, graduated '12, currently in Mexico), who plays in the Mexican LNBP (second division) couldn't help Abejas de Leon (18-21) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Abejas de Leon was badly defeated 90-73 in Mexico by the leading Capitanes in the South group. Gaskins was the second best scorer with 16 points in 22 minutes. This year he averages 9.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.0apg in 23 games. Gaskins is a naturalized Panamanian.

   #10. Jacobi Boykins (6'6''-G-95, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA G League) contributed to a Rio Grande Valley Vipers' victory against the Iowa Wolves 129-125 in the NBA G League in Sunday night's game. Boykins recorded 8 points. This season he averages 9.8ppg and 3.1rpg.
