Best performed former Brigham Young University players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Cougars players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Brandon Davies (6'10''-C-91, graduated '13, plays pro in Lithuania) could not help Zalgiris (20-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Zalgiris lost 71-81 on the road to the lower-ranked (#3) Neptunas. Davies was the top scorer with 22 points. He also added 2 blocks in 29 minutes. It was Zalgiris' first loss after five consecutive victories. Davies has relatively good stats this year 12.8ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg in 20 games he played so far.

   #2. Jimmer Fredette (6'2''-PG-89, graduated '11, plays in China) was not able to help Shanghai Sharks (22-22) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Fredette's very good performance Shanghai Sharks were defeated 110-104 in Jiangsu by the lower-ranked Monkey Kings (#17). He was the top scorer with 36 points. Fredette also added 8 assists. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Fredette has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 36.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 5.5apg and 2.6spg.

   #3. Eric Mika (6'10''-F-95, graduated '17, currently in Germany) led medi Bayreuth to a victory over the 16th-ranked Science City Jena (5-16) crushing them 103-78 in the German BBL in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Mika recorded 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 24 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. medi Bayreuth (11-10) is placed sixth in the BBL. Mika has relatively good stats this year 13.3ppg and 4.6rpg in seven games.

   #4. Elijah Bryant (6'5''-G-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Israel) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (7-13) crushing them 102-77 in the Israeli Winner League last Monday. Bryant scored 14 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists; not bad, considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. Hapoel Eilat (13-7) is placed fourth in the Winner League. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Bryant's first year with the team. This season Bryant has very high stats. He averages 17.5ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.2apg and 1.2spg.

   #5. Agustin Ambrosino (6'8''-C/F-90, graduated '13, plays in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Estudiantes Concordia (9-10) in their last game. Despite Ambrosino's good performance Estudiantes Concordia lost 82-86 in Mercedes to the higher-ranked (#11) Comunicaciones. He scored 11 points in a mere 16 minutes. This year Ambrosino averages 3.8ppg and 2.3rpg in 12 games. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

   #6. Charles Abouo (6'5''-G/F-89, graduated '12, currently in France), who plays in the French ProB (second division) couldn't help ADA Blois Basket 41 (10-10) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance ADA Blois Basket 41 was badly defeated 71-54 on the opponent's court by the much lower-ranked Caen (#16). Abouo was the top scorer with 12 points. He also added 7 rebounds. This season Abouo averages 8.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.9apg. He is a naturalized Ivorian.

   #7. Tyler Haws (6'4''-G-91, graduated '15, plays pro in Spain) couldn't help Levitec Huesca in their game against Melilla Baloncesto in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division), despite his very good performance on Friday night. He recorded 13 points in 36 minutes. But his team was edged 88-87. Haws has relatively good stats this year 14.1ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.7apg in 25 games. He is a naturalized Belgian.

   #8. Jonathan Tavernari (6'6''-SF-87, graduated '10, plays in Italy) contributed to a Givova Scafati's victory against the second-ranked Edilnol Bl 78-70 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) on Wednesday night. He scored 6 points. This season Tavernari averages 7.3ppg and 3.1rpg. He has also Italian nationality.
