Best performed former Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bruins alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Zach LaVine (6'5''-G-95, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) led Chicago Bulls to a victory over the Atlanta Hawks (22-44) 168-161 in the NBA last Friday. He was MVP of the game. LaVine scored 47 points (!!!), had 9 rebounds and dished 9 assists in 56 minutes. The Chicago Bulls have not so impressive 19-48 record this season. LaVine has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 23.8ppg, 4.6rpg and 4.4apg in 60 games he played so far.

   #2. Russell Westbrook (6'3''-PG-88, graduated '08, plays in the NBA) could not help the Oklahoma City Thunder (40-26) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Westbrook's very good performance the Oklahoma City Thunder (40-26) was defeated 131-120 on the road by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He recorded a double-double by scoring 38 points and getting 13 rebounds. Westbrook also added 6 assists. It's Westbrook's 11th season with the team. This year he has very high stats. Westbrook averages 23.1ppg, 11.1rpg, 10.5apg and 2.0spg.

   #3. Jrue Holiday (6'4''-PG-90, graduated '09, currently in the NBA) was the main contributor in a New Orleans Pelicans' victory against the Denver Nuggets (43-22) 120-112 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Holiday recorded 29 points (!!!), 5 assists and 3 steals (made all of his five free throws) in 35 minutes. The New Orleans Pelicans have 30-38 record this season. It's Holiday's sixth year with the team. He has very impressive stats this year 21.2ppg, 5.0rpg, 7.7apg and 1.6spg in 67 games.

   #4. Kevin Love (6'10''-PF-88, graduated '08, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to help the Cleveland Cavaliers (16-50) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Love's very good performance the Cleveland Cavaliers (16-50) were defeated 113-107 in Brooklyn by the Nets. He recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 16 rebounds. Love also added 4 assists. It's Love's fifth season with the team. This year he has very high stats. Love averages 18.8ppg, 10.8rpg and 2.3apg.

   #5. Shabazz Muhammad (6'6''-SF-92, graduated '13, plays in China) contributed to a Shanxi Zhongyu's victory against the 18th-ranked Blue Whales (10-33) 127-115 in the Chinese CBA on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Muhammad had a double-double by scoring 46 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 33 minutes. Shanxi Zhongyu (16-28) is placed 14th in the CBA. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Muhammad has very impressive stats this year 29.9ppg, 11.2rpg and 2.9apg in 39 games.

   #6. Darren Collison (6'0''-PG-87, graduated '09, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to secure a victory for the Indiana Pacers (42-24) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Collison's very good performance the Indiana Pacers were defeated 117-112 in Orlando by the Magic. He recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and making 10 passes. Collison has relatively good stats this season 11.0ppg, 3.1rpg, 6.0apg and 1.4spg.

   #7. Experienced Trevor Ariza (6'8''-F-85, graduated '04, plays pro in the NBA) was the major contributor in a Washington Wizards' victory against the Dallas Mavericks 132-123 in the NBA last Wednesday. He scored 22 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 35 minutes. Ariza has very impressive stats this year 14.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 4.2apg and 1.4spg in 35 games.

   #8. Michael Roll (6'6''-SG-87, graduated '10, plays in Israel) helped his Israeli team Maccabi T-A win their game against the closely-ranked Bayern Muenchen 77-70 in the Euroleague on Thursday night. He recorded 11 points. This season Roll averages 9.8ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.8apg. He is a naturalized Tunisian.

   #9. JR Sakuragi (6'9''-C-76, graduated '98, currently in Japan), who plays in the Japanese B League couldn't help SeaHorses Mikawa (23-20) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the third-placed SeaHorses Mikawa lost 83-93 in Yokohama to the lower-ranked (#6) Yokohama BC in the Central group. Sakuragi had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 24 minutes. Sakuragi has relatively good stats this year 12.7ppg, 7.4rpg and 5.1apg in 42 games. He is a naturalized Japanese.

   #10. Jonah Bolden (6'10''-F/C-96, graduated '17, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Philadelphia 76ers (41-25) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the Philadelphia 76ers were edged 120-117 in Oakland by the Golden State Warriors. Bolden recorded 12 points and blocked 2 shots. This season Bolden averages 4.4ppg and 3.6rpg.
