Top Creighton University alumni playing currently pro basketball

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Bluejays players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Maurice Watson (5'10''-PG-93, graduated '17, plays pro in Holland) could not help Leiden (2-4) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the third-placed Leiden (2-4) lost 93-97 at home to the leading Banco di Srd in the group L of FIBA Europe Cup. Watson was the top scorer with 25 points. He also added 7 assists in 36 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Watson's second season in pro basketball. Watson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 15.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 6.4apg and 1.9spg in 15 games he played so far.

   #2. Marcus Foster (6'3''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in South Korea) led DB Promy to a victory over the league outsider Samsung Thunders (11-39) 96-89 in the South Korean KBL last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Foster scored 41 points (!!!), grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists; not bad, considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. DB Promy (23-27) is placed seventh in the KBL. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Foster's first year with the team. This season Foster has very high stats. He averages 26.0ppg, 5.3rpg and 3.8apg.

   #3. Experienced Kyle Korver (6'7''-F/G-81, graduated '03, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the Utah Jazz (37-28) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Utah Jazz (37-28) was edged 115-112 on the road by the New Orleans Pelicans. Korver was the second best scorer with 20 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. It's Korver's first season with the team. Korver has relatively good stats this year 9.7ppg and 2.5rpg in 43 games.

   #4. Gregory Echenique (6'9''-C-90, played in 2009-13, plays pro in Japan) was the main contributor in a 3-point Shimane Susanoo Magic's victory against the leader Gunma (33-12) 82-79 in the Japanese B2 League in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Echenique recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Shimane Susanoo Magic (32-13) is placed second. This season Echenique has very high stats. He averages 18.9ppg, 14.2rpg, 2.5apg and 1.5bpg.

   #5. Justin Carter (6'4''-G/F-87, graduated '10, plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for Banco di Srd (9-11) in their last game. Despite Carter's good performance Banco di Srd lost 100-105 on their home court in Sassari to the much higher-ranked (#3) Vanoli Cremona. He scored 11 points in 31 minutes. It was Banco di Srd's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Carter has relatively good stats this year 11.6ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.2apg in five games.

   #6. Jahenns Manigat (6'1''-G-91, graduated '14, currently in Hungary) was the major contributor in DEAC's victory against the tenth-ranked Szolnok 96-90 in the Hungarian A Division on Saturday night. Manigat scored 17 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 5 assists. Manigat has relatively good stats this season 13.5ppg, 3.8rpg, 3.4apg and 1.3spg.

   #7. Anthony Tolliver (6'8''-C-85, graduated '07, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Minnesota Timberwolves (30-35) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were badly defeated 131-114 in Detroit by the Pistons. Tolliver scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 20 minutes. This year Tolliver averages 5.0ppg and 2.4rpg in 47 games.

   #8. Devin Brooks (6'1''-G-92, graduated '15, plays in Slovakia) couldn't help Rieker KN in their game against Iskra Svit in the Slovakian SBL. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Brooks recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 3 steals. This season Brooks has very high stats. He averages 17.5ppg, 10.8rpg, 6.0apg and 2.2spg. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

   #9. Geoffrey Groselle (7'0''-C-93, graduated '16, currently in Kazakhstan) contributed to a 3-point Astana's victory against the closely-ranked Unics Kazan 98-95 in the VTB United League on Saturday night. He scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes. Groselle has relatively good stats this year 12.8ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.4apg in 18 games.

   #10. Doug McDermott (6'8''-F-92, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Indiana Pacers in their game against the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. McDermott scored 7 points. His team were badly defeated by 19 points 117-98 in the NBA. This season McDermott averages 6.8ppg and 1.4rpg.
