Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Golden Flashes players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Christopher Evans (6'8''-SF-91, graduated '13, plays pro in Turkey) could not help Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (3-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (3-3) was edged 78-76 on the road by the lower-ranked (#7) Ventspils in the group I of FIBA Europe Cup. Evans was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 25 minutes. Evans has relatively good stats this year 14.8ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.0apg in four games he played so far.

   #2. Deon Edwin (6'3''-G-92, graduated '17, plays in Ukraine) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Khimik (18-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Edwin's good performance Khimik was edged 76-75 at home by the leading Dnipro. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Edwin also added 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Edwin's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Edwin averages 15.9ppg, 6.1rpg, 4.6apg and 1.6spg.

   #3. Xavier Pollard (6'4''-G-91, graduated '16, currently in Switzerland), who plays in the Swiss SBL was not able to secure a victory for Lugano Tigers (4-0) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Lugano Tigers lost 97-112 in Vevey to the lower-ranked (#6) Lakers. Pollard was the top scorer with 41 points in 39 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Pollard's first year with the team. Pollard has very impressive stats this season 21.3ppg, 4.8rpg, 5.4apg and 1.4spg in 18 games.

   #4. Khaliq Spicer (6'9''-C-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Belgium) couldn't help Hubo Limburg United (6-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Spicer's good performance Hubo Limburg United was defeated 88-79 in Leuven by the one of league's weakest teams Bears (#9). He scored 13 points, had 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Spicer has relatively good stats this season 11.2ppg, 6.9rpg and 1.5bpg.

   #5. Christopher Ortiz (6'8''-F-93, graduated '16, plays in Finland) led Helsinki Seagulls to a victory against the closely-ranked BC Nokia (12-19) 102-93 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Sunday. Ortiz scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 35 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Helsinki Seagulls (13-18) is placed seventh in the Korisliiga. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Ortiz's first year with the team. Ortiz has very impressive stats this season 15.6ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.5apg in 28 games. He is a naturalized Puerto Rican.

   #6. Anthony Simpson (6'8''-F/C-87, graduated '10, currently in Indonesia), who plays in the Indonesian IBL couldn't help NSH (12-6) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance the first-placed NSH was badly defeated 81-62 in a derby game by the lower-ranked Satria Muda (#3) in the Red Group. Simpson was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. This season Simpson has very high stats. He averages 16.4ppg, 11.7rpg, 2.9apg and 2.7spg.

   #7. Derek Jackson (6'1''-PG-91, graduated '15, plays pro in Switzerland) contributed to a Swiss Central's victory against the league outsider Pully 86-76 in the Swiss SBL in Saturday night's game. He scored 10 points and added 5 passes in 38 minutes. Jackson has relatively good stats this year 14.1ppg, 3.7rpg, 5.2apg and 3.3spg in 18 games.

   #8. Kevin Zabo (6'2''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in Spain) helped Albacete win their game against the 12th-ranked Tormes 75-64 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Sunday. Zabo scored 13 points. He has relatively good stats this season 14.5ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg. Zabo has also Canadian citizenship.

   #9. Bryson Pope (6'7''-SF-90, graduated '13, currently in France) helped Caen win their game against the ninth-ranked ADA Blois 71-54 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. He scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in only 14 minutes. This year Pope averages 5.5ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.9apg in 13 games.
