Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Golden Eagles players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Davante Gardner (6'8''-PF-91, graduated '14, plays pro in Japan) led Niigata Albirex to a victory over the third-ranked Diamond Dolphins (22-20) 85-72 in the Japanese B League on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Gardner recorded a double-double by scoring 40 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 6 assists in 35 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Central. Niigata Albirex (31-11) is placed first. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Gardner has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 27.1ppg, 10.9rpg and 4.0apg.

   #2. Andrew Rowsey (5'11''-PG-94, graduated '18, plays in Hungary) could not help Szolnok (17-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Szolnok lost 90-96 at home to the lower-ranked (#6) DEAC. Rowsey was the top scorer with 30 points. He also added 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Rowsey's first season in pro basketball. It was Szolnok's first loss after four consecutive victories. Rowsey has relatively good stats this year 11.6ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.1apg in 20 games he played so far.

   #3. Dwight Buycks (6'3''-PG-89, graduated '11, currently in China) contributed to a Shenzhen Leopards' victory against the tenth-ranked Golden Bulls (22-22) 124-111 in the Chinese CBA last Tuesday. Buycks scored 21 points, made 7 passes and 5 steals in 34 minutes. Shenzhen Leopards (33-11) are placed third in the CBA. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Buycks has very high stats. He averages 20.2ppg, 4.8rpg, 5.4apg and 2.4spg.

   #4. Experienced Dwyane Wade (6'4''-G-82, graduated '03, plays pro in the NBA) was the main contributor in a 1-point Miami Heat's victory against the Atlanta Hawks (22-44) 114-113 in the NBA on Monday night. He was MVP of the game. Wade scored 23 points and added 5 passes. The Miami Heat has 31-34 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Wade has very impressive stats this year 14.2ppg, 3.8rpg and 4.3apg in 54 games.

   #5. Jimmy Butler (6'7''-G/F-89, graduated '11, plays in the NBA) was not able to help the Philadelphia 76ers (41-25) in their game last Saturday. Despite his very good performance the Philadelphia 76ers (41-25) were edged 120-117 on the road by the Golden State Warriors. Butler recorded 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 37 minutes. This season Butler has very high stats. He averages 18.6ppg, 5.1rpg, 4.0apg and 1.9spg.

   #6. Jae Crowder (6'6''-F-90, graduated '12, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to secure a victory for the Utah Jazz (37-28) in their last game. Despite Crowder's very good performance the Utah Jazz was edged 115-112 in New Orleans by the Pelicans. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Crowder also added 6 rebounds. Crowder has very impressive stats this year 12.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.7apg in 63 games.

   #7. Travis Diener (6'1''-PG-82, graduated '05, plays pro in Italy) helped Vanoli Basket Cremona win their game against the 11th-ranked Banco di Srd 105-100 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and making 10 passes in 31 minutes. This season Diener averages 8.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.6apg. He is a naturalized Italian.

   #8. Wesley Matthews (6'5''-G-86, graduated '09, plays in the NBA) couldn't help the Indiana Pacers (42-24) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Indiana Pacers lost 112-117 in Orlando to the Magic. Matthews recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Matthews has very impressive stats this year 13.2ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg in 10 games.

   #9. Trent Lockett (6'5''-G-90, graduated '13, currently in Russia) couldn't help Unics Kazan in their game against Astana in the VTB United League. He scored 7 points and added 3 passes in 26 minutes. His team was edged 98-95. This season Lockett averages 7.4ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.2apg.

   #10. Chris Otule (6'11''-C-90, graduated '14, plays pro in France) couldn't help Sharks Antibes in their game against Gravelines-Dunkerque in the French Jeep ELITE ProA, despite his very good performance last Friday. Otule was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks. But his team was badly defeated by 17 points 88-71. Otule has relatively good stats this year 12.8ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.1bpg in 13 games. He is a naturalized Nigerian.
