Top Purdue University alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Boilermakers alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Carl Landry (6'9''-F-83, graduated '07, plays pro in Japan) led Hiroshima Dragonflies to a victory over the leader Kumamoto Volters (32-13) 79-67 in the Japanese B2 League in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Landry had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 20 rebounds in 31 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Hiroshima Dragonflies (29-16) are placed third. Landry has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 24.0ppg, 11.8rpg and 2.9apg in eight games he played so far.

   #2. JaJuan Johnson (6'9''-F/C-89, graduated '11, plays in Russia) could not help Lokomotiv (4-2) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Lokomotiv (4-2) was badly defeated 86-66 on the road by the leading Unics Kazan in the group F of Eurocup. Johnson was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 4 rebounds. This season Johnson averages 9.0ppg and 4.6rpg.

   #3. E'Twaun Moore (6'4''-G-89, graduated '11, currently in the NBA) contributed to a New Orleans Pelicans' victory against the Phoenix Suns (15-51) 130-116 in the NBA on Friday night. Moore scored 20 points and added 3 assists (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 22 minutes. The New Orleans Pelicans have 30-38 record this season. Moore has very impressive stats this year 11.9ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.9apg in 53 games.

   #4. Chris Kramer (6'3''-G-88, graduated '10, plays pro in Lithuania) was the major contributor in Rytas' victory against the closely-ranked P.Zvaigzdes (13-10) 99-83 in the Lithuanian LKL in Saturday night's game. He scored 14 points. BC Rytas Vilnius (18-5) is placed second in the LKL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Kramer averages 8.6ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.5apg.

   #5. Isaac Haas (7'2''-C-95, graduated '18, plays in the NBA G League) was the main contributor in a Salt Lake City Stars' victory against the Texas Legends (15-29) crushing them 128-100 in the NBA G League last Friday. Haas was MVP of the game. He scored 25 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 23 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Haas' first season in pro basketball. The Salt Lake City Stars have 24-21 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Haas averages 9.6ppg and 5.0rpg in 27 games.

   #6. Caleb Swanigan (6'9''-F-97, graduated '17, currently in the NBA G League) helped Stockton Kings win their game against the Memphis Hustle 126-115 in the NBA G League on Sunday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 16 rebounds. Swanigan has relatively good stats this season 14.0ppg, 12.5rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg.

   #7. P.J. Thompson (5'10''-PG-96, graduated '18, plays pro in Denmark) helped Naestved win their game against the fourth-ranked Svendborg crushing them 95-74 in the Danish BasketLigaen in Thursday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and making 10 passes. Thompson also added and 3 steals in 32 minutes. Thompson has very impressive stats this year 16.7ppg, 3.4rpg, 5.2apg and 1.4spg in 23 games.

   #8. Keaton Grant (6'4''-SG-86, graduated '10, plays in Cyprus) helped Apoel win their game against the closely-ranked Apollon 86-80 in the Cypriot Division A last Sunday. Grant recorded 12 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. This season Grant has very high stats. He averages 16.0ppg, 4.7rpg, 3.3apg and 2.7spg.

   #9. Gary Ware (6'9''-C/F-83, graduated '06, currently in Austria) helped BK Mattersburg Rocks win their game against the seventh-ranked Flames crushing them 101-78 in the Austrian 2.Bundesliga (second division) on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Ware had a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in 31 minutes. Ware has very impressive stats this year 21.6ppg, 10.8rpg and 2.1apg in 16 games.

   #10. Nemanja Calasan (6'9''-C-85, graduated '09, plays pro in Switzerland) was not able to help Starwings in their game against Fribourg in the Swiss SBL. Calasan scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 85-70. Calasan has relatively good stats this season 13.8ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.8apg. He has also Montenegrin passport.
