Top Mississippi State University alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bulldogs alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Charles Rhodes (6'8''-F/C-85, graduated '08, plays pro in South Korea) led Inchon ET Land Elephants to a victory over the seventh-ranked DB Promy (23-27) crushing them 104-72 in the South Korean KBL on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Rhodes recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks in 28 minutes. Inchon ET Land Elephants (34-15) are placed second in the KBL. It was his team's 11th consecutive victory in a row. Rhodes has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 18.3ppg, 9.8rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1bpg.

   #2. Arnett Moultrie (6'10''-F/C-90, graduated '12, plays in Latvia) was the main contributor in Kalev/Cramo's victory against the league outsider Tsmoki-Minsk (2-15) crushing them 108-83 in the VTB United League in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Moultrie scored 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 4 rebounds. BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn (8-10) is placed ninth in the VTB United League. There are only two games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Moultrie has very impressive stats this year 17.4ppg and 7.5rpg in 10 games he played so far.

   #3. Gavin Ware (6'9''-C/F-93, graduated '16, currently in France), who plays in the French Jeep ELITE ProA could not help one of league's weakest teams JDA Dijon Bourgogne (17-4) in their game last Saturday. Despite Ware's very good performance JDA Dijon Bourgogne was edged 90-88 on the road by the second-ranked JL Bourg. He was the second best scorer with 15 points. Ware also added 8 rebounds in 26 minutes. It's Ware's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 13.0ppg and 4.8rpg.

   #4. Dee Bost (6'2''-G-89, graduated '12, plays pro in France) contributed to an easy victory against the 15th-ranked Cholet Basket (7-14) crushing them 88-67 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Monday night. He scored 6 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 6 assists. It was his first game for AS Monaco Basket this season. His team is placed fourth in the Jeep ELITE ProA. Bost is a naturalized Bulgarian.

   #5. Roquez Johnson (6'7''-F/C-92, graduated '15, plays in Argentina) was not able to help Boca Juniors (11-8) in their game last Friday. Despite Johnson's good performance Boca Juniors was defeated 73-64 in a derby game by the higher-ranked Obras Basket (#5). He scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 17 minutes. It's Johnson's first season with the team. This year Johnson averages 6.6ppg and 4.6rpg.

   #6. Fred Thomas (6'5''-F-93, graduated '16, currently in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL was not able to secure a victory for Bristol Academy Flyers (13-3) in their last game. Despite Thomas' very good performance the league leader Bristol Academy Flyers lost 89-95 in Newcastle to the lower-ranked (#3) Eagles. He was the second best scorer with 20 points. Thomas also added 9 rebounds and made 4 blocks. He has very impressive stats this year 15.7ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.3apg and 1.2spg in 19 games.

   #7. Craig Sword (6'3''-G-94, graduated '16, plays pro in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Erie Bay Hawks (19-24) in their game last Friday. Despite Sword's good performance the Erie Bay Hawks (#4) were edged 111-110 in Grand Rapids by the Drive. He scored 14 points and added 8 assists in 25 minutes. This season Sword averages 9.0ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.5apg, 1.1bpg and 1.2spg.

   #8. Travis Daniels (6'8''-F-92, graduated '16, plays in Greece) couldn't help Cretan Kings in their game against Panathinaikos in the Greek A1. He scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team lost 75-87. This year Daniels averages 8.2ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.1apg in 17 games.

   #9. Barry Stewart (6'4''-SG-88, graduated '10, currently in Cyprus) contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked Etha 101-86 in the Cypriot Division A last Sunday. Stewart recorded 6 points in only 11 minutes. This season he averages 9.4ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.8apg and 1.6spg.

   #10. Jarvis Varnado (6'9''-C-88, graduated '10, plays pro in France) managed to help FOS Provence Basket in a victory against the sixth-ranked Chalon/Saor 76-73 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Friday night. He scored only 2 points, had 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks. This year Varnado averages 4.8ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.2bpg in five games.
