Top University of Tennessee alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Volunteers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Jarnell Stokes (6'7''-F-94, graduated '14, plays pro in China) was the major contributor in a Xinjiang Flying Tigers' victory against the 18th-ranked Blue Whales (10-33) crushing them 126-90 in the Chinese CBA on Friday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 33 points and getting 16 rebounds in 32 minutes. Xinjiang Flying Tigers (30-13) are placed fourth in the CBA. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Stokes has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 24.4ppg, 13.6rpg, 2.8apg and 1.4spg.

   #2. Tobias Harris (6'9''-F-92, graduated '11, plays in the NBA) led Philadelphia 76ers to a victory against the Orlando Magic (31-36) 114-106 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 12 rebounds. Harris also added 5 assists. The Philadelphia 76ers have a solid 41-25 record this season. Harris has very impressive stats this year 20.8ppg, 7.9rpg and 2.7apg in 11 games he played so far.

   #3. Kevin Punter (6'2''-G-93, graduated '16, currently in Italy), who plays in the Italian Serie A could not help Virtus Bologna (10-10) in their game last Sunday. Despite his very good performance Virtus Bologna was edged 77-76 at home by the second-ranked Umana Venezia. Punter was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. Punter has relatively good stats this season 14.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg.

   #4. Josh Richardson (6'6''-G-93, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to a 1-point Miami Heat's victory against the Atlanta Hawks (22-44) 114-113 in the NBA on Monday night. Richardson scored 19 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists. The Miami Heat has 31-34 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Richardson has very impressive stats this year 17.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 4.0apg in 62 games.

   #5. Experienced Chris Lofton (6'2''-G-86, graduated '08, plays in South Korea) contributed to a SK Knights' victory against the closely-ranked Goyang Orions (24-25) 87-78 in the South Korean KBL in Sunday night's game. He recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in 28 minutes. Seoul SK Knights (17-32) are placed second from the bottom (#9) in the KBL. Lofton has relatively good stats this season 12.2ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.2apg and 1.2spg.

   #6. Tyler Smith (6'7''-F-86, graduated '10, currently in Israel) led Elitzur Ironi Ashkelon to a surprising victory over the league leader Maccabi Raanana 96-93 in the Israeli National League (second division) last Tuesday. Smith was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 10 rebounds. Smith also added 5 assists and 4 steals. Smith has relatively good stats this year 14.8ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.2apg and 1.4spg in 12 games.

   #7. Robert Hubbs III (6'4''-G-95, graduated '17, plays pro in Norway) helped Kongsberg win their game against the fifth-ranked Fyllingen BBK 118-100 in the Norwegian BLNO on Saturday night. Hubbs III recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and making 10 passes. He also added 5 rebounds and 3 steals in 35 minutes. This season Hubbs III has very high stats. He averages 22.4ppg, 6.5rpg, 5.4apg and 1.1spg.

   #8. Scotty Hopson (6'7''-F/G-89, graduated '11, plays in the NBA G League) helped Oklahoma City Blue win their game against the Stockton Kings 123-120 in the NBA G League in Wednesday night's game. He recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Hopson has very impressive stats this year 17.2ppg, 4.6rpg and 2.8apg in 30 games.

   #9. Devon Baulkman (6'5''-G/F-91, graduated '16, currently in the NBA G League) helped Westchester Knicks win their game against the Wisconsin Herd crushing them 123-95 in the NBA G League last Saturday. He scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 26 minutes. This season Baulkman averages 7.8ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.2apg.

   #10. Derek Reese (6'7''-F-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Puerto Rico) helped Leones de Ponce win their game against the league outsider Atleticos crushing them 98-62 in the Puerto Rican BSN on Thursday night. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds. It was his first game for Leones de Ponce this season. Reese is a naturalized Puerto Rican.
