Best performed former Washington State University players in pro basketball in last week games

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Cougars players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Klay Thompson (6'7''-G-90, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) led Golden State Warriors to a victory over the Denver Nuggets (43-22) 122-105 in the NBA last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Thompson recorded 39 points (!!!) and added 4 passes in 35 minutes. The Golden State Warriors have a solid 45-20 record this season. It's Thompson's eighth year with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Thompson averages 22.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg in 61 games he played so far. He is a naturalized Bahamian.

   #2. Experienced Taylor Rochestie (6'1''-PG-85, graduated '09, plays in China) was the main contributor in a Tianjin Gold Lions' victory against one of league's weakest teams Bayi Rockets (10-34) 121-102 in the Chinese CBA on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Rochestie scored 45 points (!!!), grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 9 assists. Tianjin Gold Lions (12-32) are placed 16th in the CBA. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Rochestie's first season with the team. This year he has very high stats. Rochestie averages 33.6ppg, 4.7rpg, 9.3apg and 1.1spg. He is a naturalized Montenegrin.

   #3. Ike Iroegbu (6'2''-G-95, graduated '17, currently in Lithuania), who plays in the Lithuanian LKL could not help Lietkabelis (14-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Lietkabelis lost 74-89 at home to the lower-ranked (#6) Juventus. Iroegbu was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 23 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Iroegbu's second season in pro basketball. It was Lietkabelis' first loss after four consecutive victories. Iroegbu has relatively good stats this year 14.8ppg, 3.8rpg and 4.0apg in four games.

   #4. Josh Hawkinson (6'10''-F-95, graduated '17, plays pro in Japan) was the major contributor in a Toyotsu FE's victory against the fourth-ranked Orange Vikings (17-28) 112-95 in the Japanese B2 League last Sunday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 11 rebounds. Hawkinson also added 7 assists and 4 blocks; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya (29-16) is placed second in Central group. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Hawkinson has very high stats. He averages 21.8ppg, 10.6rpg, 3.3apg and 1.1bpg.

   #5. Kyle Weaver (6'6''-G-86, graduated '08, plays in Lithuania) was not able to help Neptunas in their game against Hapoel Jerusalem (12-2) in the Basketball Champions League. He recorded 8 points and added 4 assists in 30 minutes. The third-placed Neptunas (8-6) lost 74-86 on their home court in Klaipeda to the second-ranked Hapoel Jerusalem in the group D of Basketball Champions League. Weaver has relatively good stats this year 10.9ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.5apg and 1.5spg in 15 games.

   #6. Charles Callison (6'0''-PG-95, graduated '17, currently in Denmark) contributed to a Horsens IC's victory against the leader Bakken 86-75 in the Danish BasketLigaen in Friday night's game. Callison recorded 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. This season Callison has very high stats. He averages 15.8ppg, 2.8rpg, 4.0apg and 1.9spg.

   #7. D.J. Shelton (6'10''-F-91, graduated '14, plays pro in Turkey) was not able to secure a victory for Banvit Basketbol Kulubu in their game against Brose Baskets in the Basketball Champions League. He recorded 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 25 minutes. His team was edged 81-79. Shelton has relatively good stats this year 12.1ppg and 5.0rpg in eight games.

   #8. Aron Baynes (6'10''-C-86, graduated '09, plays in the NBA) couldn't help the Boston Celtics in their game against the Houston Rockets in the NBA. Baynes scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team were defeated 115-104 in the NBA. This season Baynes averages 5.3ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2apg. He has also New Zealand nationality.

   #9. Davonte Lacy (6'4''-G-93, graduated '15, currently in Germany), who plays in the German ProA (second division) couldn't help PS Karlsruhe Lions (13-13) in their last game. Despite Lacy's good performance PS Karlsruhe Lions was crushed 96-64 on the road by the higher-ranked (#6) Nuernberg. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Lacy also added 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 28 minutes. Lacy has very impressive stats this year 15.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 4.5apg and 1.2spg in 22 games.

   #10. Marcus Capers (6'4''-G-89, graduated '12, plays pro in Canada) managed to help London Lightning to win against the Halifax Hurricanes 100-99 in the NBLCanada last Thursday. Capers recorded 5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. This season Capers averages 9.9ppg, 5.3rpg, 3.2apg, 1.2bpg and 1.1spg.
