Best performed former Stanford University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cardinal alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Josh Owens (6'9''-C-88, graduated '12, plays pro in Israel) was the major contributor in a Hapoel Jerusalem's victory against the eighth-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (8-12) 90-86 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds in 25 minutes. Hapoel Jerusalem (15-5) is placed third in the Winner League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Owens' first season with the team. This year Owens averages 9.8ppg, 7.5rpg and 1.1spg in 20 games he played so far.

   #2. Dwight Powell (6'11''-F-91, graduated '14, plays in the NBA) could not help the Dallas Mavericks (27-37) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Powell's very good performance the Dallas Mavericks (27-37) were defeated 132-123 on the road by the Washington Wizards. He recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 10 rebounds. It's Powell's fourth season with the team. Powell has relatively good stats this year 9.8ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.3apg.

   #3. Robin Lopez (7'0''-C/F-88, graduated '08, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the Chicago Bulls (19-47) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Chicago Bulls (19-47) lost 96-105 in Indianapolis to the Indiana Pacers. Lopez was the second best scorer with 20 points. He also added 9 rebounds and 3 blocks in 31 minutes. Lopez has relatively good stats this year 8.4ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1bpg in 58 games.

   #4. Brook Lopez (7'0''-C-88, graduated '08, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Milwaukee Bucks (48-16) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the Milwaukee Bucks (48-16) were defeated 115-111 in Salt Lake City by the Utah Jazz. Lopez recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocks. It's Lopez's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Lopez averages 12.2ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.1apg and 2.3bpg.

   #5. Rosco Allen (6'10''-PF-93, graduated '16, plays in Japan) led Shimane Susanoo Magic to a 3-point victory against the leader Gunma (33-12) 82-79 in the Japanese B2 League on Sunday night. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds. Allen also added 8 assists in 40 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Shimane Susanoo Magic (32-13) is placed second. Allen has very impressive stats this year 22.1ppg, 9.5rpg, 5.3apg and 1.3spg in 36 games.

   #6. Michael Humphrey (6'9''-C-96, graduated '18, currently in Poland), who plays in Poland couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora (4-13) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora was defeated 92-78 in Riga by the higher-ranked VEF Riga (#11). Humphrey scored 10 points. It was his first game for Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora this season.

   #7. Josh Huestis (6'7''-F-91, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Austin Spurs in their game against the Erie Bay Hawks in the NBA G League, despite his very good performance on Tuesday night. He scored 16 points, had 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 37 minutes. But his team lost 115-129 in the NBA G League. This year Huestis averages 8.4ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.2bpg in 19 games.

   #8. Marcus Allen (6'3''-G-94, graduated '17, plays in the NBA G League) couldn't help the South Bay Lakers in their game against the Stockton Kings in the NBA G League. He recorded 8 points. His team were defeated 122-115 in the NBA G League. This season Allen averages 8.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.1apg.

   #9. Dorian Pickens (6'5''-G/F, graduated '18, currently in Belgium) couldn't help Hubo Limburg United in their game against Leuven Bears in the Belgian Euromillions League. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Pickens scored only 3 points in 18 minutes. His team lost 79-88. This year Pickens averages 7.9ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.1apg in 13 games.

   #10. Anthony Brown (6'7''-G/F-92, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Lakeland Magic in their game against the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League. Despite his good performance last Friday Brown scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Brown has relatively good stats this season 12.7ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.7apg.
