Best performed former Central Connecticut State University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Blue Devils alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Brandon Peel (6'7''-F-94, graduated '16, plays pro in United Kingdom) led London Lions to a victory over the seventh-ranked Manchester Giants (10-12) crushing them 115-91 in the British BBL last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Peel had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 29 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Peel's third season in pro basketball. London Lions (17-2) is placed first in the BBL. It was his team's 14th consecutive victory in a row. Peel has relatively good stats this year 12.9ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.3apg, 1.2bpg and 1.2spg in 19 games he played so far.

   #2. Kenneth Horton (6'7''-F-89, graduated '12, plays in Kazakhstan) contributed to a 3-point Astana's victory against the closely-ranked Unics Kazan (14-4) 98-95 in the VTB United League on Saturday night. He scored 12 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. BK Astana (12-6) is placed fifth in the VTB United League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Horton's first season with the team. Horton has relatively good stats this year 12.9ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.1apg and 1.6spg.

   #3. Faronte Drakeford (6'7''-F-92, graduated '15, currently in Luxembourg) was the main contributor in Heffingen's victory against the sixth-ranked T.Hesperange (1-0) 71-68 in the Luxembourg Total League in Saturday night's game. Drakeford was MVP of the game. He recorded 28 points (!!!) and grabbed 9 rebounds in 38 minutes. BBC US Hiefenech Heffingen (3-1) is placed second in Places 7-14 group. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. It's Drakeford's first season with the team. Drakeford has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 33.5ppg, 10.8rpg and 2.0apg in four games.

   #4. Khalen Cumberlander (6'3''-G, graduated '17, plays pro in Portugal) could not help Ovarense (11-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Ovarense was defeated 82-77 on the road by the lower-ranked CAB Madeira (#6). Cumberlander was the second best scorer with 14 points. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Cumberlander has relatively good stats this season 13.9ppg, 4.1rpg, 4.2apg and 1.6spg.
