Best performed former Kansas State University players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Wildcats players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Jeremiah Massey (6'8''-PF-82, graduated '05, plays pro in Argentina) led Olimpico de La Banda to a victory over the league outsider Argentino (3-12) crushing them 98-75 in the Argentinian La Liga last Thursday. He was MVP of the game. Massey scored 23 points in a mere 17 minutes. Olimpico de La Banda (7-7) is placed 13th in the La Liga. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Massey's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 14.6ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.7apg and 1.9spg in 14 games he played so far. Massey is a naturalized FYR Macedonian.

   #2. Jacob Pullen (6'1''-PG-89, graduated '11, plays in Croatia) was the main contributor in a 2-point KK Cedevita Zagreb's victory against the sixth-ranked FMP (8-11) 87-85 in the ABA League on Sunday night. Pullen was MVP of the game. He recorded 21 points and added 4 assists. KK Cedevita Zagreb (14-5) is placed second in the ABA League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Pullen has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 17.6ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.0apg. Pullen is a naturalized Georgian.

   #3. Akeem Wright (6'7''-F/G-84, graduated '07, currently in Qatar), who plays in the Qatari D1 could not help Al Rayyan (3-13) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Al Rayyan lost 94-98 in a derby game to the higher-ranked (#6) Al Gharafa. Wright was the top scorer with 31 points. He also added 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals (made all of his six free throws) in 40 minutes. The Regular Season already ended. Wright has very impressive stats this year 20.3ppg, 7.5rpg, 4.0apg and 1.5spg in four games. Wright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

   #4. Justin Edwards (6'3''-G-92, graduated '16, plays pro in South Korea) was the major contributor in an Anyang KGC's victory against the league outsider Samsung Thunders (10-33) 86-78 in the South Korean KBL last Sunday. Edwards scored 18 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Anyang KGC (19-24) is placed eighth in the KBL. This season Edwards has very high stats. He averages 15.2ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.9apg and 1.7spg.

   #5. Wesley Iwundu (6'7''-F-94, graduated '17, plays in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Atlanta Hawks (18-38) 124-108 in the NBA on Sunday night. Iwundu scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 18 minutes. The Orlando Magic has 25-32 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Iwundu's first year with the team. This season he averages 4.9ppg and 2.4rpg in 43 games.

   #6. Rodney McGruder (6'4''-G-91, graduated '13, currently in the NBA) was not able to help the Miami Heat in their game against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA. McGruder scored 8 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. His team was badly defeated by 16 points 103-87 in the NBA. He has relatively good stats this season 8.6ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.0apg.

   #7. Curtis Kelly (6'10''-F/C-88, graduated '11, plays pro in Turkey) contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Manisa crushing them 100-67 in the Turkish TBL (second division) last Saturday. Kelly had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds in 31 minutes. He has relatively good stats this year 14.3ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.4apg in 18 games.

   #8. Lance Harris (6'6''-F/G-84, graduated '07, plays in Slovenia) contributed to a 2-point Primorska's victory against the eighth-ranked Split 77-75 in the Liga Nova KBM on Wednesday night. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Harris has relatively good stats this season 14.3ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.4apg.

   #9. Thomas Gipson (6'7''-F-93, graduated '15, currently in Finland), who plays in the Finnish Korisliiga was not able to secure a victory for Kouvot (13-8) in their last game. Despite Gipson's good performance Kouvot lost 80-91 on the road to the lower-ranked (#9) Joensuun_Kataja. He recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 16 minutes. Gipson has relatively good stats this year 14.3ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.4apg in 18 games.

   #10. Martavious Irving (6'1''-PG-90, graduated '13, plays pro in Indonesia) couldn't help Siliwangi (5-11) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Irving's very good performance the fourth-placed Siliwangi was defeated 81-74 in Surabaya by the higher-ranked Pacific Caesar (#3) in the White Group. He was the top scorer with 29 points. Irving also added 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists. This season he has very high stats. Irving averages 19.6ppg, 5.3rpg, 4.1apg and 1.3spg.
