Top University of Nebraska alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cornhuskers alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Lance Jeter (6'3''-PG-88, graduated '11, plays pro in Holland) led his Dutch team Groningen to a 3-point victory over the closely-ranked Openjobmetis VA (4-2) 80-77 in the FIBA Europe Cup on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Jeter scored 24 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 34 minutes. Donar Groningen (2-4) is placed third in group K. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Jeter has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 18.7ppg, 6.2rpg, 4.7apg and 1.2spg.

   #2. Shavon Shields (6'7''-F/G-94, graduated '16, plays in Spain) could not help one of league's weakest teams Baskonia (14-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance Baskonia lost 76-82 on the road to the second-ranked Real Madrid. Shields scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. This year Shields averages 9.2ppg and 2.6rpg in 19 games he played so far.

   #3. Sek Henry (6'4''-G-87, graduated '10, currently in Turkey) was not able to help Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir in their game against Prishtina (2-4) in the FIBA Europe Cup. Despite his very good performance on Wednesday night He was the second best scorer with 21 points in 29 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. This season Henry has very high stats. He averages 17.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 5.0apg. Henry is a naturalized Jamaican.

   #4. Experienced Jason Dourisseau (6'5''-F/G-83, graduated '06, plays pro in Holland) is a teammate of previously mentioned Lance Jeter and both played together in the last FIBA Europe Cup game. Dourisseau contributed to a 3-point Groningen's victory against the closely-ranked Openjobmetis VA (4-2) 80-77. He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It's Dourisseau's fourth season with the team. This year Dourisseau averages 7.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.2apg in 12 games. He is a naturalized Dutch.

   #5. Caleb Walker (6'5''-G-89, graduated '12, plays in Belgium) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Kangoeroes (12-4) crushing them 92-65 in the Belgian Euromillions League in Friday night's game. He recorded 7 points in 21 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Basic-Fit Brussels (11-3) is placed second in the Euromillions League. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Walker has relatively good stats this season 13.4ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg.

   #6. Jack McVeigh (6'8''-F-96, graduated '18, currently in Australia) contributed to an Adelaide 36ers' victory against one of league's weakest teams New Zealand Breakers 114-107 in the Australian NBL last Thursday. McVeigh scored 6 points. This year McVeigh averages 3.6ppg and 1.9rpg in 18 games.

   #7. Duby Okeke (6'8''-C-94, graduated '18, plays pro in Spain) managed to help Hestia Menorca to win against the third-ranked Villarrobledo 76-73 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. He scored only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court. This season Okeke averages 4.6ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.8bpg.

   #8. Ryan Anderson (6'4''-G-87, graduated '10, plays in Canada) was not able to secure a victory for the Windsor Express in their game against the London Lightning in the NBL Canada, despite his very good performance on Sunday night. He was the second best scorer with 21 points. Anderson also added 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. But his team were crushed by 23 points 132-109. This year Anderson averages 4.6ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.8bpg in five games. Anderson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

   #9. Evan Taylor (6'5''-G-96, graduated '18, currently in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario in their game against the Iowa Wolves in the NBA G League. Despite his very good performance in Thursday night's game He scored 17 points in 42 minutes. This season Taylor averages 4.0ppg and 1.3rpg.

   #10. Rayes Gallegos (6'2''-G-90, graduated '14, plays pro in Mexico) led Laguneros to a victory against the seventh-ranked Huracanes 91-77 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) on Monday night. He scored 11 points and added 6 assists. Gallegos has relatively good stats this year 11.7ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.6apg and 1.4spg in 36 games.
