Top University of Wyoming alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cowboys alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Justin Williams (6'9''-F/C-84, graduated '06, plays pro in Venezuela) was the major contributor in Guaros' victory against the closely-ranked Libertadores (1-2) 92-85 in the Liga Americas on Sunday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 23 rebounds. Williams also added 4 blocks in 34 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Guaros de Lara (3-0) is placed first in the Liga Americas. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. The Regular Season already ended in the Liga Americas. This season Williams averages 8.5ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.5bpg.

   #2. Nathan Sobey (6'3''-G-90, graduated '14, plays in Australia) led Adelaide 36ers to a victory over one of league's weakest teams New Zealand Breakers (11-15) 114-107 in the Australian NBL in Thursday night's game. Sobey was MVP of the game. He scored 27 points (!!!), grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 9 assists. Adelaide 36ers (14-13) are placed fourth in the NBL. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Sobey has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 16.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 5.1apg and 1.2spg in 26 games he played so far.

   #3. Francisco Cruz (6'3''-G-89, graduated '12, currently in Spain), who plays in Spain could not help Montakit Fuenlabrada (4-10) in their game last Wednesday. Despite Cruz's very good performance the eighth-placed Montakit Fuenlabrada (4-10) was defeated 85-78 on the road by the higher-ranked Lietkabelis (#5) in the group C of Basketball Champions League. He was the top scorer with 26 points. Cruz also added 4 passes in 29 minutes. The Regular Season already ended in the Basketball Champions League. Cruz has relatively good stats this season 13.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.8apg.

   #4. Larry Nance Jr. (6'8''-F-93, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to a 3-point Cleveland Cavaliers' victory against the New York Knicks (10-46) 107-104 in the NBA on Monday night. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 16 rebounds. Nance Jr. also added 4 assists. The Cleveland Cavaliers have not so impressive 12-45 record this season. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. It's Nance Jr.'s first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 9.0ppg, 8.0rpg, 3.0apg and 1.4spg in 46 games.

   #5. Hayden Dalton (6'9''-PF-96, graduated '18, plays in Denmark) was not able to help Bakken (3-3) in their game last Wednesday. Despite Dalton's very good performance the third-placed Bakken (3-3) was edged 125-124 at home by the leading Avtodor in the group L of FIBA Europe Cup. He scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. This season Dalton averages 9.4ppg and 3.8rpg.

   #6. Josh Adams (6'2''-G-93, graduated '16, currently in the NBA G League), who plays in the NBA G League was not able to secure a victory for the Raptors 905 Missisauga (22-13) in their last game. Despite Adams' very good performance the Raptors 905 Missisauga was edged 99-98 in Portland by the Maine Red Claws. He was the top scorer with 23 points. Adams also added 5 rebounds and dished 7 assists. Adams has very impressive stats this year 17.5ppg, 4.4rpg and 5.0apg in eight games.

   #7. Derek Cooke Jr. (6'9''-F-91, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA G League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Josh Adams. But that was another game of his team in NBA G League which we would like to mention. Cooke Jr. contributed to a Raptors 905 Missisauga's victory against the Maine Red Claws 121-112. He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 16 rebounds. Cooke Jr. also added 4 assists and 4 steals in 36 minutes. This season Cooke Jr. averages 8.0ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.1spg.

   #8. Luke Martinez (6'4''-G-90, graduated '13, plays in Mexico) helped Soles de Mexicali win their game against the third-ranked Aaguacateros 80-76 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) in Sunday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 12 rebounds. Martinez also added 5 assists. Martinez has relatively good stats this year 14.0ppg, 5.1rpg, 3.3apg and 1.8spg in 31 games. He is a naturalized Mexican.

   #9. HL Coleman (6'8''-F-74, graduated '97, currently in Finland) couldn't help ToPo Juniorit in their game against Kristika Turku in the Finnish 1st Division (second division). He scored 7 points, had 15 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 33 minutes. His team was defeated 86-78. Coleman has relatively good stats this season 10.2ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.8apg.
