Top Creighton University alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bluejays alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Maurice Watson (5'10''-PG-93, graduated '17, plays pro in Holland) could not help Leiden (2-4) in their game last Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Leiden (2-4) was defeated 92-80 on the road by the second-ranked Joensuun_Kataja in the group L of FIBA Europe Cup. Watson recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and making 10 passes. He also added and 4 steals in 39 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Watson has relatively good stats this season 14.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 6.4apg and 1.9spg.

   #2. Gregory Echenique (6'9''-C-90, played in 2009-13, plays in Japan) was the major contributor in a Shimane Susanoo Magic's victory against the fifth-ranked Bambitious Nara (10-28) 89-80 in the Japanese B2 League in Sunday night's game. Echenique had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. Shimane Susanoo Magic (29-10) is placed first in West group. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. It's Echenique's first season with the team. Echenique has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 19.5ppg, 14.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.6bpg in 37 games he played so far.

   #3. Justin Carter (6'4''-G/F-87, graduated '10, currently in Italy) led his Italian team Banco di Srd to a victory against the fourth-ranked AEK Larnaca (1-5) 93-81 in the FIBA Europe Cup last Wednesday. Carter scored 11 points and added 5 passes in 22 minutes. Banco di Sardegna Sassari (5-1) is placed first in group K. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. Carter has relatively good stats this season 11.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.3apg.

   #4. Jahenns Manigat (6'1''-G-91, graduated '14, plays pro in Hungary) was not able to help DEAC (4-4) in their last game. Despite Manigat's very good performance DEAC lost 96-103 in Szombathely to the higher-ranked (#4) Falco-Vulcano. He recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. It's Manigat's first season with the team. Manigat has relatively good stats this year 13.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg in 18 games.

   #5. Marcus Foster (6'3''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in South Korea) led DB Promy to a 2-point victory over the closely-ranked Goyang Orions (22-21) 79-77 in the South Korean KBL in Tuesday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Foster recorded 18 points (made all of his six free throws) in only a mere 10 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. DB Promy (21-22) is placed sixth in the KBL. It's Foster's first year with the team. This season Foster has very high stats. He averages 26.1ppg, 5.6rpg, 4.0apg and 1.1spg.

   #6. Devin Brooks (6'1''-G-92, graduated '15, currently in Slovakia) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Handlova 89-72 in the Slovakian SBL last Wednesday. Brooks had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 9 assists and 3 steals (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). Brooks has very impressive stats this year 17.8ppg, 10.6rpg, 6.1apg and 2.4spg in eight games. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

   #7. Kenny Lawson (6'10''-C-88, graduated '11, plays pro in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Orasi RAV crushing them 93-73 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) on Sunday night. Lawson recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds in 34 minutes. This season he has very high stats. Lawson averages 17.1ppg, 8.6rpg and 1.1apg.

   #8. Experienced Kyle Korver (6'7''-F/G-81, graduated '03, plays in the NBA) managed to help Utah Jazz in a victory against the San Antonio Spurs crushing them 125-105 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Korver recorded 5 points. He has relatively good stats this year 9.6ppg and 2.3rpg in 34 games.

   #9. Doug McDermott (6'8''-F-92, graduated '14, currently in the NBA) contributed to an Indiana Pacers' victory against the Charlotte Hornets 99-90 in the NBA last Monday. McDermott scored 6 points in only 11 minutes. This season he averages 6.7ppg and 1.3rpg.

   #10. Khyri Thomas (6'3''-G-96, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the New York Knicks 120-103 in the NBA on Friday night. Thomas scored 5 points. This year he averages 2.9ppg in 17 games.
