Best performed former Western Michigan University players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Broncos players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Shayne Whittington (6'11''-C-91, graduated '14, plays pro in Spain) contributed to a 1-point Movistar Estudiantes Madrid's victory against the closely-ranked Andorra (10-10) 91-90 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He scored 6 points in 19 minutes. Movistar Estudiantes Madrid (9-7) is placed seventh in the Liga Endesa. It's Whittington's first season with the team. Whittington has relatively good stats this year 12.8ppg and 4.3rpg in eight games he played so far. He is a naturalized FYR Macedonian.

   #2. Thomas Wilder (6'3''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in the NBA G League) could not help the Windy City Bulls (19-17) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the Windy City Bulls were crushed 113-92 on the road by the Grand Rapids Drive. Wilder scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Wilder averages 7.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.3apg.

   #3. Demetrius Ward (6'2''-G-90, graduated '12, currently in Germany) managed to help Uni Baskets Paderborn in a 3-point victory against the closely-ranked Gladiators (11-11) 93-90 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. Ward recorded 5 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in 21 minutes. Uni Baskets Paderborn (3-8) is placed eighth in the ProA. It's Ward's first season with the team. This year he averages 8.3ppg, 4.2rpg, 6.1apg and 1.9spg in 21 games. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

   #4. Tucker Haymond (6'6''-G-94, graduated '17, plays pro in Germany) was not able to help Koeln Rh.Stars in their game against FC Bayern II (10-10) in the German ProB (third division). Despite his very good performance on Saturday night He was the top scorer with 19 points. Haymond also added 4 rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Haymond's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Haymond averages 21.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg.

   #5. Flenard Whitfield (6'7''-F-90, graduated '12, plays in Canada) was not able to secure a victory for the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans (13-12) in their game against the London Lightning (15-16) in the NBL Canada, despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game. Whitfield was the second best scorer with 24 points. He also added 8 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks in 31 minutes. But the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans (#5) were crushed 134-108 in London by the higher-ranked (#3) Lightning. Whitfield has very impressive stats this year 21.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg in 19 games.

   #6. Martelle McLemore (6'6''-G/F-88, graduated '10, currently in United Kingdom) was the major contributor in a 1-point Thames Valley Cavaliers' victory against one of league's weakest teams Crusaders 77-76 in the British NBL D1 (second division) in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points and added 3 passes. This season McLemore has very high stats. He averages 21.2ppg, 5.4rpg, 2.8apg and 2.2spg.
