Top University of Kansas alumni playing currently pro basketball

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Jayhawks players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Joel Embiid (7'0''-C-94, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Philadelphia 76ers (36-20) in their game last Tuesday. Despite his very good performance the Philadelphia 76ers (36-20) were defeated 119-107 on the road by the Toronto Raptors. Embiid recorded a double-double by scoring 37 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks in 42 minutes. It's Embiid's fifth season with the team. Embiid has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 27.2ppg, 13.4rpg, 3.5apg and 2.0bpg.

   #2. Josh Jackson (6'8''-G-97, graduated '17, plays in the NBA) was not able to help the Phoenix Suns (11-47) in their last game. Despite Jackson's very good performance the Phoenix Suns (11-47) were crushed 116-88 at home by the Utah Jazz. He was the top scorer with 27 points. Jackson also added 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. It was Suns' 14th consecutive loss in a row. Jackson has very impressive stats this year 11.2ppg, 4.3rpg and 2.4apg in 58 games he played so far.

   #3. Kelly Oubre (6'7''-G/F-95, graduated '15, currently in the NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Josh Jackson. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Oubre, who plays in the NBA was not able to secure a victory for the Phoenix Suns (11-47) in their game last Friday. Despite his very good performance the Phoenix Suns (11-47) were defeated 117-107 in Oakland by the Golden State Warriors. Oubre recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 4 assists and 3 steals in 34 minutes. This season Oubre has very high stats. He averages 15.0ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg.

   #4. Andrew Wiggins (6'8''-G-95, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Minnesota Timberwolves (26-30) in their last game. Despite Wiggins' very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves (26-30) lost 117-122 in New Orleans to the Pelicans. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 10 rebounds. Wiggins also added 7 assists and 2 blocks. It was Timberwolves' fourth consecutive loss in a row. It's Wiggins' fifth season with the team. He has very impressive stats this year 17.9ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg in 51 games.

   #5. Tarik Black (6'9''-F-91, graduated '14, plays in Israel) led his Israeli team Maccabi T-A to a 1-point victory over the sixth-ranked Olympiacos (12-10) 65-64 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Black was MVP of the game. He recorded 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 24 minutes. Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (10-12) is placed tenth in the Euroleague. This season Black averages 9.7ppg and 5.3rpg.

   #6. Mario Little (6'6''-G/F-87, graduated '11, currently in Croatia) led his Croatian team KK Zadar to a victory over the closely-ranked Cibona 95-91 in the ABA League last Saturday. Little was MVP of the game. He recorded 20 points and added 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Little has relatively good stats this year 14.6ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.3apg in 18 games.

   #7. Cheick Diallo (6'9''-C/F-96, graduated '16, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to a New Orleans Pelicans' victory against the Chicago Bulls 125-120 in the NBA on Wednesday night. Diallo recorded 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. This season Diallo averages 4.5ppg and 3.9rpg.

   #8. Wayne Selden (6'5''-SF-94, graduated '16, plays in the NBA) couldn't help the Chicago Bulls (13-44) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Chicago Bulls lost 125-134 in Washington to the Wizards. Selden recorded 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds (made all of his six free throws). Selden has relatively good stats this year 7.5ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.7apg in 17 games.

   #9. Marcus Morris (6'9''-F-89, graduated '11, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA couldn't help the Boston Celtics (35-21) in their game last Saturday. Despite his very good performance the Boston Celtics were defeated 123-112 in Los Angeles by the Clippers. Morris recorded 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 31 minutes. This season Morris has very high stats. He averages 14.6ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.4apg.

   #10. Cliff Alexander (6'9''-F/C-95, graduated '15, plays pro in Germany) helped Brose Baskets Bamberg win their game against the league outsider Mitteldeutscher BC 96-89 in the German BBL on Friday night. Alexander scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This year Alexander averages 8.4ppg and 5.4rpg in 16 games.
