Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Runnin'Rebels players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Christian Jones (6'7''-F-93, graduated '17, plays pro in Ukraine) led Khimik to a victory over the sixth-ranked Odessa (7-13) 92-78 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Jones recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 26 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. BK Khimik-OPZ Yuhzny (16-6) is placed first in the Superleague. Jones has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 16.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg in 22 games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Michael Umeh (6'2''-PG-84, graduated '07, plays in Poland) could not help Polski Cukier Torun (15-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Polski Cukier Torun was defeated 89-80 on the road by the lower-ranked Anwil (#4). Umeh was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 2 blocks. Umeh has relatively good stats this season 13.7ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.1apg. He is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #3. Joel Anthony (6'9''-C-82, graduated '07, currently in Argentina) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Las Animas (2-1) crushing them 93-70 in the Liga Americas on Sunday night. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds. Anthony also added 3 blocks in 24 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. San Lorenzo de Almagra (3-0) is placed first in the Liga Americas. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. The Regular Season already ended in the Liga Americas. This year Anthony averages 8.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.0bpg and 1.3spg in three games.

   #4. Rene Rougeau (6'6''-F/G-86, graduated '09, plays pro in Finland) was the main contributor in Kauhajoki's victory against the closely-ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (16-10) 86-79 in the Finnish Korisliiga in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Rougeau recorded 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and made 3 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Karhu Kauhajoki (18-8) is placed second in the Korisliiga. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. This season Rougeau has very high stats. He averages 15.3ppg, 7.3rpg, 3.6apg, 1.4bpg and 2.1spg.

   #5. Carlos Lopez-Sosa (6'10''-F-90, graduated '14, plays in Mexico) was not able to help Angeles (12-23) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the seventh-placed Angeles (12-23) was badly defeated 91-72 in Aguascalientes by the higher-ranked (#4) Panteras in the South group. Lopez-Sosa was the top scorer with 24 points. He also added 8 rebounds and 5 assists in 38 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Lopez-Sosa has very impressive stats this year 17.0ppg, 8.2rpg and 2.8apg in 33 games.

   #6. Rashad Vaughn (6'6''-SG-96, graduated '15, currently in the NBA G League) contributed to an easy victory against the Iowa Wolves crushing them 134-111 in the NBA G League on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Vaughn scored 29 points (!!!). This season Vaughn has very high stats. He averages 18.3ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.3apg.

   #7. Gaston Essengue (6'8''-C-83, graduated '07, plays pro in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Quilmes MP (3-10) in their last game. Despite Essengue's very good performance Quilmes MP lost 74-88 in Rio Gallegos to the much higher-ranked (#8) Hispano Americano de. He was the top scorer with 19 points in 22 minutes. Essengue has relatively good stats this year 10.3ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.1apg in nine games.

   #8. Quintrell Thomas (6'8''-PF-90, graduated '13, plays in Israel) couldn't help Maccabi Hod Hasharon (7-11) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance Maccabi Hod Hasharon was defeated 95-84 in Raanana by the leading Maccabi. Thomas recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 18 rebounds. This season Thomas has very high stats. He averages 22.9ppg, 12.9rpg and 1.5bpg. Thomas is a naturalized Jamaican.

   #9. Khem Birch (6'10''-C-92, graduated '14, currently in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Milwaukee Bucks crushing them 103-83 in the NBA on Saturday night. Birch recorded 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks in 19 minutes. This year Birch averages 3.1ppg and 2.9rpg in 24 games.

   #10. Stephen Zimmerman (7'0''-F-96, graduated '16, plays pro in the NBA G League) managed to help Westchester Knicks to win against the Long Island Nets 134-130 in the NBA G League in Saturday night's game. He scored 5 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, passed 4 assists and added 2 blocks. This season Zimmerman averages 7.7ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.6apg.
