Best performed former University of Connecticut players in pro basketball in last week games

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Huskies players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Andre Drummond (6'10''-C-93, graduated '12, plays pro in the NBA) led Detroit Pistons to a victory over the New York Knicks (10-45) 120-103 in the NBA last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Drummond had a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 20 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks in 33 minutes. The Detroit Pistons have 25-29 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Drummond's seventh year with the team. Drummond has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 17.1ppg, 15.0rpg, 1.2apg, 1.8bpg and 1.5spg in 51 games he played so far.

   #2. Kemba Walker (6'1''-PG-90, graduated '11, plays in the NBA) was the main contributor in a Charlotte Hornets' victory against the Atlanta Hawks (18-38) 129-120 in the NBA on Saturday night. Walker was MVP of the game. He recorded 37 points (!!!) and added 7 assists. The Charlotte Hornets have 27-28 record this season. It's Walker's eighth year with the team. This year Walker has very high stats. He averages 25.1ppg, 4.3rpg, 5.7apg and 1.2spg.

   #3. Jeremy Lamb (6'5''-SG-92, graduated '12, currently in the NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kemba Walker and both played together in the last NBA game. Lamb contributed to a Charlotte Hornets' victory against the Atlanta Hawks (18-38) 129-120. He recorded 24 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and made 2 blocks in 36 minutes. It's Lamb's fourth season with the team. Lamb has very impressive stats this year 15.1ppg, 5.6rpg and 2.0apg in 52 games.

   #4. Niels Giffey (6'7''-G/F-91, graduated '14, plays pro in Germany) was the major contributor in an ALBA Berlin's victory against the fourth-ranked Partizan (2-4) crushing them 97-74 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. He scored 17 points. ALBA Berlin (5-1) is placed first in group E. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Eurocup Top 16. And that game will be critical. It's Giffey's fifth season with the team. Giffey has relatively good stats this year 11.5ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.5apg.

   #5. Experienced Rudy Gay (6'8''-F/G-86, graduated '06, plays in the NBA) could not help the San Antonio Spurs (32-26) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the San Antonio Spurs (32-26) lost 118-127 on the road to the Portland Trail Blazers. Gay was the second best scorer with 25 points in 32 minutes. It was Spurs' fourth consecutive loss in a row. Gay has very impressive stats this year 14.4ppg, 6.3rpg and 2.5apg in 47 games.

   #6. Ryan Boatright (6'0''-PG-92, graduated '15, currently in Spain) helped Unicaja Malaga edge the eighth-ranked La ICL Manresa 99-97 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. He scored 11 points and added 5 passes. This season Boatright averages 7.8ppg and 3.3apg. He is a naturalized Armenian.

   #7. Shabazz Napier (6'1''-PG-91, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to help the Brooklyn Nets (29-28) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Brooklyn Nets were badly defeated 113-94 in Milwaukee by the Bucks. Napier was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in 28 minutes. Napier has relatively good stats this year 9.8ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.5apg in 45 games. He is a naturalized Puerto Rican.

   #8. Rodney Purvis (6'4''-SG-94, graduated '17, plays in the NBA G League) helped Sioux Falls Skyforce win their game against the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario 135-120 in the NBA G League on Friday night. He recorded 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Purvis has relatively good stats this season 14.1ppg, 3.9rpg and 3.5apg.

   #9. Hilton Armstrong (6'11''-C-84, graduated '06, currently in Japan), who plays in the Japanese B League was not able to secure a victory for Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (22-18) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Nagoya Diamond Dolphins lost 82-89 in Kyoto to the lower-ranked (#3) Hannaryz in the West group. Armstrong had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 10 rebounds in 32 minutes. Armstrong has relatively good stats this year 13.5ppg, 10.8rpg, 2.0apg and 1.8bpg in four games.

   #10. Lasan Kromah (6'6''-G-91, graduated '14, plays pro in France) helped Rouen Metropole Basket win their game against the 14th-ranked ALM Evreux 88-76 in the French ProB (second division) last Friday. Kromah scored 16 points, had 5 boards, dished 8 assists and stole 3 balls. This season Kromah has very high stats. He averages 15.3ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.8apg. Kromah is a naturalized Liberian.
