Top University of Georgia alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Bulldogs players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Trey Thompkins (6'10''-PF-90, graduated '11, plays pro in Spain). He could not help Real Madrid (15-5) to beat Unicaja Malaga (13-7) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Thompkins recorded 9 points in only 9 minutes. But Real Madrid was edged 103-102 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Unicaja Malaga. It's Thompkins' fourth season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 13.8ppg and 3.8rpg in nine games he played so far.

   #2. Nemanja Djurisic (6'8''-PF-92, graduated '15, plays in Belgium) was not able to help Oostende (7-7) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the sixth-placed Oostende (7-7) was defeated 100-94 at home by the higher-ranked SIG Strasbourg (#5) in the group D of Basketball Champions League. Djurisic was the second best scorer with 20 points. He also added 6 rebounds. The Regular Season already ended in the Basketball Champions League. It's Djurisic's first season with the team. Djurisic has relatively good stats this year 13.5ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.3apg.

   #3. Kenny Gaines (6'3''-G-94, graduated '16, currently in Lithuania), who plays in the Lithuanian LKL was not able to secure a victory for Juventus (8-15) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Juventus was edged 89-88 on their home court in Utena by the higher-ranked (#3) Neptunas. Gaines was the top scorer with 23 points. He also added 3 assists and 3 steals in 25 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Gaines' third season in pro basketball. It was Juventus' fourth consecutive loss in a row. Gaines has relatively good stats this year 10.6ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.4spg in nine games.

   #4. Travis Leslie (6'4''-G-90, graduated '11, plays pro in France) couldn't help Boulazac Basket Dordogne (10-10) in their last game on Friday. Despite Leslie's good performance Boulazac Basket Dordogne was defeated 78-73 in Villeurbanne by the higher-ranked ASVEL Lyon- Basket (#9). He scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. It's Leslie's first season with the team. Leslie has relatively good stats this year 11.5ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg.

   #5. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (6'5''-G-93, graduated '13, plays in the NBA) led Los Angeles Lakers to a 1-point victory against the Boston Celtics (35-21) 129-128 in the NBA last Thursday. Caldwell-Pope scored 17 points in 23 minutes. The Los Angeles Lakers have 28-28 record this season. Caldwell-Pope has relatively good stats this year 10.3ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.1apg in 55 games.

   #6. Terrance Woodbury (6'7''-G-87, graduated '09, currently in Japan), who plays in the Japanese B2 League couldn't help Kagawa FA (8-30) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Woodbury's very good performance the sixth-placed Kagawa FA were defeated 82-68 in Sendai by the second-ranked 89ers in the West group. He was the top scorer with 33 points. Woodbury also added 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Woodbury has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 24.1ppg, 8.4rpg, 4.8apg and 1.3spg. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

   #7. Dustin Ware (6'0''-PG-90, graduated '12, plays pro in Hungary) couldn't help ZTE KK (11-8) in their last game. Despite his good performance ZTE KK lost 79-85 on their home court in Zalaegerszeg to the leading Szolnok. Ware recorded 12 points and added 6 assists in 37 minutes. Ware has very impressive stats this year 17.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.9apg and 1.5spg in 19 games.

   #8. John Florveus (6'11''-C-90, graduated '13, plays in Slovakia) couldn't help Nova Ves in their game against Iskra Svit in the Slovakian SBL. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Florveus recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 4 assists. Florveus has relatively good stats this season 12.6ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.5bpg. He is a naturalized Haitian.

   #9. Juwan Parker (6'4''-G-94, graduated '18, currently in Germany) contributed to Nuernberg's victory against the closely-ranked Artland Dragons 79-66 in the German ProA (second division) on Saturday night. He recorded 6 points in only 13 minutes. This year Parker averages 5.0ppg and 1.8rpg in six games.
