Top University of Kentucky alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Wildcats alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Eloy Vargas (6'11''-C-88, graduated '12, plays pro in Argentina) led Gimnasia to a 3-point victory over the tenth-ranked Libertad Sunchales (8-7) 82-79 in the Argentinian La Liga on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Vargas recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 12 rebounds in 29 minutes. Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia (9-6) is placed sixth in the La Liga. Vargas has relatively good stats this season 14.3ppg, 9.8rpg and 1.6apg.

   #2. Anthony Davis (6'10''-C-93, graduated '12, plays in the NBA) led New Orleans Pelicans to a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) 122-117 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Davis scored 32 points (!!!), had 9 rebounds and made 3 blocks. The New Orleans Pelicans have 25-32 record this season. It's Davis' seventh year with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Davis averages 29.0ppg, 13.3rpg, 4.3apg, 2.6bpg and 1.7spg in 43 games he played so far.

   #3. Karl-Anthony Towns (7'0''-F/C-95, graduated '15, currently in the NBA) faced previously mentioned Anthony Davis in the NBA last game. Towns, who plays in the NBA could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) in their game last Friday. Despite his very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) were defeated 122-117 on the road by the New Orleans Pelicans. Towns was the top scorer with 32 points. He also added 8 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 2 shots in 33 minutes. It's Towns' fourth season with the team. This year Towns has very high stats. He averages 23.1ppg, 12.1rpg, 3.2apg and 1.8bpg. Towns is a naturalized Dominican.

   #4. Julius Randle (6'9''-F-94, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Anthony Davis. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Randle was the main contributor in a New Orleans Pelicans' victory against the Chicago Bulls (13-43) 125-120. He was MVP of the game. Randle recorded 31 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 3 assists. The New Orleans Pelicans have 25-32 record this season. Randle has very impressive stats this year 20.0ppg, 9.2rpg and 2.9apg in 50 games.

   #5. Devin Booker (6'6''-SG-96, graduated '15, plays in the NBA) was not able to help the Phoenix Suns (11-46) in their game last Sunday. Despite his very good performance the Phoenix Suns (11-46) were defeated 117-104 at home by the Sacramento Kings. Booker was the top scorer with 27 points. He also added 8 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 35 minutes. It's Booker's fourth season with the team. This year Booker has very high stats. He averages 24.9ppg, 3.8rpg and 6.7apg.

   #6. Eric Bledsoe (6'1''-PG-89, graduated '10, currently in the NBA) was the major contributor in a Milwaukee Bucks' victory against the Washington Wizards 148-129 in the NBA last Wednesday. Bledsoe had a double-double by scoring 22 points and making 11 passes. He also added 6 rebounds. Bledsoe has very impressive stats this year 16.0ppg, 4.6rpg, 5.6apg and 1.5spg in 54 games.

   #7. Jamal Murray (6'6''-F/G-97, graduated '16, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Denver Nuggets (37-18) in their game last Friday. Despite his very good performance the Denver Nuggets were defeated 117-110 in Philadelphia by the 76ers. Murray was the second best scorer with 23 points. He also added 5 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 36 minutes. This season Murray has very high stats. He averages 18.6ppg, 4.3rpg and 5.0apg.

   #8. De'Aaron Fox (6'4''-G-97, graduated '17, plays in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the San Antonio Spurs 127-112 in the NBA in Monday night's game. Fox scored 20 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 6 assists. He has very impressive stats this year 17.2ppg, 3.6rpg, 7.1apg and 1.7spg in 54 games.

   #9. Experienced Rajon Rondo (6'1''-PG-86, graduated '06, currently in the NBA) contributed to a 1-point Los Angeles Lakers' victory against the Boston Celtics 129-128 in the NBA last Thursday. Rondo recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and making 10 passes. He also added 7 rebounds in 35 minutes. Rondo has relatively good stats this season 9.1ppg, 5.1rpg and 7.8apg.

   #10. Trey Lyles (6'9''-F/G-95, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jamal Murray. However that was another game of his team in NBA which brought him to that list. Lyles couldn't help the Denver Nuggets (37-18) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Denver Nuggets were crushed 129-103 in Detroit by the Pistons. Lyles was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Lyles has relatively good stats this year 9.5ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.5apg in 53 games.
