Top University of Portland alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Pilots players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Luke Sikma (6'8''-F-89, graduated '11, plays pro in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Partizan (2-4) crushing them 97-74 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. He scored 8 points, had 11 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 28 minutes. ALBA Berlin (5-1) is placed first in group E. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Eurocup Top 16. And that game will be critical. Sikma has relatively good stats this season 11.6ppg, 6.9rpg, 4.4apg and 1.9spg.

   #2. Volodymyr Herun (6'10''-F/C-94, graduated '15, plays in Spain) led Cafes Candelas Breogan Lugo to a victory over one of league's weakest teams UCAM Murcia (5-15) 77-73 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Herun was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds. Herun also added 3 blocks. Cafes Candelas Breogan Lugo (7-12) is placed 14th in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. This year Herun averages 8.9ppg and 5.2rpg in 17 games he played so far.

   #3. Thomas van der Mars (6'10''-C-90, graduated '15, currently in Belgium), who plays in the Belgian Euromillions League could not help Crelan Okapi Aalstar (7-9) in their game last Saturday. Despite his good performance Crelan Okapi Aalstar was crushed 104-74 on the road by the league outsider Antwerp Giants (#10). van der Mars recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds in 23 minutes. van der Mars has relatively good stats this season 11.8ppg and 7.1rpg.

   #4. Experienced Porter Troupe (6'5''-G-83, graduated '02, plays pro in Romania) was the major contributor in Craiova's victory against the sixth-ranked Pitesti (7-10) 80-76 in the Romanian Liga Nationala on Saturday night. He scored 16 points. SCM CSU Craiova (11-7) is placed third in Group Red. It's Troupe's first season with the team. Troupe has relatively good stats this year 12.0ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.2apg in 18 games.

   #5. Alec Wintering (6'0''-PG-95, graduated '17, plays in Holland) was not able to help Dutch Windmills Dordrecht in their game against Den Helder (8-6) in the Dutch Eredivisie. Despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game Wintering was the second best scorer with 15 points in 33 minutes. It's Wintering's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Wintering averages 15.3ppg, 4.3rpg and 4.0apg.

   #6. Nemanja Mitrovic (6'6''-G-90, graduated '12, currently in Mexico) was not able to secure a victory for Santos de San Luis Potosi in their game against Lenadores in the Mexican LNBP (second division), despite his very good performance last Thursday. Mitrovic scored 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. But his team lost 93-100. He has very impressive stats this year 15.8ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg in 12 games. Mitrovic has also Bosnia and Herzegovina citizenship.

   #7. T.J. Campbell (5'9''-PG-88, graduated '10, plays pro in Turkey) couldn't help Turk Telekom in their game against Fenerbahce in the Turkish BSL. He cannot count it as his best performance. Campbell scored only 3 points in 20 minutes. His team was crushed by 23 points 87-64. This season he averages 7.4ppg, 2.1rpg and 4.2apg.

   #8. Nikolas Raivio (6'4''-SG-86, graduated '10, plays in Germany) couldn't help medi Bayreuth in their game against Neptunas in the Basketball Champions League. He scored 6 points. His team lost 73-83. This year Raivio averages 2.3ppg and 1.5rpg in 13 games.

   #9. D'Marques Tyson (6'5''-G-95, graduated '18, currently in Portugal) was the main contributor in a Vitoria SC's victory against the league outsider Imortal 87-82 in the Portuguese LPB last Saturday. Tyson was MVP of the game. He scored 18 points and had 3 steals in 26 minutes. This season Tyson averages 8.7ppg and 1.8rpg.

   #10. Philipp Hartwich (7'2''-C-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Spain) couldn't help Levitec Huesca in their game against RETAbet BB in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Hartwich scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. His team lost 61-74. This year he averages 5.1ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.4bpg in 21 games.
