Best performed former University of Arizona players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Wildcats players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Lauri Markkanen (7'1''-PF-97, graduated '17, plays pro in the NBA) led Chicago Bulls to a victory over the Brooklyn Nets (29-28) 125-106 in the NBA last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Markkanen had a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 18 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 38 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Markkanen's second season in pro basketball. The Chicago Bulls have rather weak 13-43 record this season. Markkanen has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 18.4ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.1apg in 33 games he played so far.

   #2. Derrick Williams (6'8''-F-91, graduated '11, plays in Germany) could not help FC Bayern Muenchen (11-11) in their last game on Friday. Despite Williams' very good performance FC Bayern Muenchen was defeated 76-68 on the road by the lower-ranked Baskonia (#8). He was the top scorer with 18 points. It's Williams' first season with the team. Williams has relatively good stats this year 14.4ppg and 4.2rpg.

   #3. DeAndre Ayton (7'1''-C-98, graduated '18, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the Phoenix Suns (11-46) in their last game. Despite Ayton's very good performance the Phoenix Suns (11-46) lost 107-117 in Oakland to the Golden State Warriors. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. Ayton also added and 3 steals in 33 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. It was Suns' 13th consecutive loss in a row. It's Ayton's first year with the team. Ayton has very impressive stats this season 16.5ppg, 10.6rpg and 2.0apg in 51 games.

   #4. Aaron Gordon (6'9''-PF-95, graduated '14, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Orlando Magic (24-32) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance the Orlando Magic (24-32) was defeated 132-122 in Oklahoma City by the Thunder. Gordon recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and making 10 passes. He also added 6 rebounds and 3 steals. It's Gordon's fifth season with the team. This year Gordon has very high stats. He averages 15.9ppg, 7.4rpg and 3.5apg.

   #5. Dusan Ristic (7'0''-C-95, graduated '18, plays in Serbia) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Mornar Bar (7-12) crushing them 90-57 in the ABA League on Saturday night. Ristic recorded 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in just a mere 13 minutes. Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (18-1) is placed first in the ABA League. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Ristic averages 5.0ppg and 2.3rpg in 16 games.

   #6. Experienced Andre Iguodala (6'6''-SF-84, graduated '04, currently in the NBA) contributed to a Golden State Warriors' victory against the Los Angeles Lakers 115-101 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. He scored 17 points and added 4 passes. This season Iguodala averages 5.8ppg, 3.9rpg and 3.3apg.

   #7. Jerryd Bayless (6'3''-PG-88, graduated '08, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were edged 107-106 in Denver by the Nuggets. Bayless had a double-double by scoring 15 points and making 10 passes in 35 minutes. Bayless has relatively good stats this year 7.2ppg, 2.3rpg and 4.2apg in 17 games.

   #8. Kadeem Allen (6'3''-G-93, graduated '17, plays in the NBA) couldn't help the New York Knicks (10-45) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the New York Knicks were defeated 104-99 in Toronto by the Raptors. Allen recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. This season Allen averages 7.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.7apg.

   #9. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (6'7''-F-95, graduated '15, currently in the NBA) helped Brooklyn Nets win their game against the Denver Nuggets 135-130 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He recorded 15 points in 20 minutes. Hollis-Jefferson has relatively good stats this year 9.3ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.7apg in 46 games.

   #10. T.J. McConnell (6'1''-PG-92, graduated '15, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Philadelphia 76ers in their game against the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. He scored 7 points, had 6 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls. His team were defeated 115-108 in the NBA. This season McConnell averages 6.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.9apg and 1.2spg.
