Top University of California - Riverside alumni playing currently pro basketball

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Highlanders players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Sean Cunningham (6'2''-PG-86, graduated '10, plays pro in Holland) contributed to a 3-point Groningen's victory against the closely-ranked Openjobmetis VA (4-2) 80-77 in the FIBA Europe Cup on Wednesday night. He scored 9 points in 20 minutes. Donar Groningen (2-4) is placed third in group K. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only two games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Cunningham's fifth season with the team. This year Cunningham averages 6.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.5apg. He is a naturalized Dutch.

   #2. Chance Murray (6'3''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in Austria) contributed to a Basket Swans Gmunden's victory against one of league's weakest teams UBSC Graz (8-14) 92-79 in the Austrian A Bundesliga in Sunday night's game. He recorded 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Basket Swans Gmunden (16-6) is placed first in the A Bundesliga. This year Murray averages 9.2ppg, 4.1rpg and 4.0apg in 22 games he played so far.

   #3. Brandon Rosser (6'7''-F, graduated '18, currently in Philippines) managed to help San Miguel Beermen to win against the closely-ranked Saigon Heat (10-7) crushing them 111-87 in the ASEAN League last Sunday. Rosser scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 15 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. San Miguel Beermen (12-2) is placed first in the ASEAN League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Rosser's first season with the team. This year he averages 3.3ppg and 2.3rpg.

   #4. Alexander Larsson (6'10''-F-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Spain) helped HLA Alicante win their game against the seventh-ranked Moron (9-12) 86-81 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. HLA Alicante (16-4) is placed first in East group. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Larsson averages 9.4ppg and 5.1rpg in seven games.

   #5. Jaylen Bland (6'3''-G-93, graduated '16, plays in Canada) was the major contributor in a Sudbury Five's victory against the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans (12-11) 105-89 in the NBL Canada in Thursday night's game. He scored 27 points (!!!), had 5 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls in 40 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Bland's third season in pro basketball. The Sudbury Five has 14-13 record this season. This year Bland averages 9.4ppg and 5.1rpg.

   #6. Gentrey Thomas (6'4''-G, graduated '17, currently in Canada), who plays in the NBL Canada could not help the Moncton Magic to beat the Saint John Riptide. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team lost 83-90. This year Thomas averages 9.4ppg and 5.1rpg in seven games.
