Best performed former Savannah State University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Tigers alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Rashad Hassan (6'8''-C/F-89, graduated '13, plays pro in United Kingdom) led Plymouth University Raiders to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Scorchers (3-15) 112-98 in the British BBL last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Hassan recorded 34 points (!!!) and grabbed 8 rebounds in 35 minutes. Plymouth University Raiders (10-9) is placed fourth in the BBL. It's Hassan's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Hassan averages 21.2ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.3apg in 13 games he played so far.

   #2. Arnold Louis (6'7''-F-90, graduated '13, plays in Chile) was the main contributor in a Las Animas' victory against the fifth-ranked CD Castro (13-14) 90-84 in the Chilean Liga Nacional on Tuesday night. He was MVP of the game. Louis recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals. Club Deportes Las Animas (19-7) is placed first in Conferencia Sur. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Louis' first season with the team. This year Louis has very high stats. He averages 21.0ppg, 10.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.7spg.

   #3. Jyles Smith (6'10''-PF-92, graduated '14, currently in Portugal), who plays in the Portuguese LPB could not help CAB Madeira (6-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance CAB Madeira lost 91-105 on the road to the higher-ranked (#7) Benfica. Smith had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 4 assists, 2 blocks and 5 steals in 34 minutes. Smith has very impressive stats this year 15.1ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.6apg, 2.6bpg and 2.2spg in 16 games.

   #4. Jovonni Shuler (6'5''-G/F-87, graduated '11, plays pro in Chile) contributed to Temuco's victory against the second-ranked Los Leones (16-11) 112-101 in the Chilean Liga Nacional last Saturday. He recorded 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Conferencia Centro. CD Asociacion de Basquetbol Temuco (19-10) is placed first in Conferencia Centro. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Shuler's first season with the team. This year Shuler has very high stats. He averages 19.8ppg, 7.9rpg, 3.0apg and 2.3spg. Shuler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
