Here is the weekly review of the top performing Mastodons alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Experienced David Simon (6'10''-C-82, graduated '05, plays pro in Japan) led Kyoto Hannaryz to a 3-point victory over the second-ranked Toshiba Thunders (22-16) 88-85 in the Japanese B League in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Simon had a double-double by scoring 40 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 40 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Kyoto Hannaryz (21-17) is placed third. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Simon's first season with the team. Simon has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 23.7ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.5apg, 2.1bpg and 1.5spg in 38 games he played so far.

#2. Frank Gaines (6'3''-SG-90, graduated '13, plays in Italy) led MIA-RO Cantu to an easy victory against the third-ranked Vanoli Cremona (11-7) 82-66 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. He scored 14 points and added 3 passes. MIA-Red October Cantu (8-10) is placed 11th in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Gaines' first season with the team. This year Gaines has very high stats. He averages 18.9ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.5apg.

#3. Pierre Bland (6'2''-G-92, graduated '14, currently in Germany) was the major contributor in an Artland Dragons' victory against the closely-ranked Chemnitz (3-11) 103-96 in the German ProA (second division) on Saturday night.    #5. Bryson Scott (6'2''-G-94, graduated '18, plays in Georgia) was not able to help Vera (1-1) in their last game. Despite Scott's very good performance Vera lost 77-81 on their home court in to the leading CIU. He was the top scorer with 22 points. Scott also added 7 boards, dished 4 assists and stole 3 balls in 34 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball.
