Best performed former Georgetown University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Hoyas alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Mikael Hopkins (6'9''-F-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Bulgaria) led Balkan to a 1-point victory over the closely-ranked Academik Plovdiv (4-6) 97-96 in the Bulgarian NBL last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Hopkins had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 12 rebounds in 28 minutes. Balkan Botevgrad (6-4) is placed fourth in the NBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Hopkins' first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Hopkins averages 16.8ppg, 10.2rpg, 2.0apg, 1.1bpg and 1.3spg in nine games he played so far.

   #2. Henry Sims (6'10''-C-90, graduated '12, plays in Italy) led Virtus Roma to a victory over the 11th-ranked Remer TVG (6-7) 89-70 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) on Sunday night. Sims was MVP of the game. He recorded 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Acea Virtus Roma (10-3) is placed first in West group. This season Sims has very high stats. He averages 18.2ppg, 11.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.9bpg.

   #3. Jeff Green (6'9''-F-86, graduated '07, currently in the NBA) contributed to a 3-point Washington Wizards' victory against the Phoenix Suns (8-26) 149-146 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. He recorded 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) in 49 minutes. The Washington Wizards have 13-21 record this season. Green has very impressive stats this year 11.2ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.2apg in 31 games.

   #4. Chris Wright (6'1''-PG-89, graduated '11, plays pro in Italy) was the major contributor in an Alma TR's victory against the closely-ranked Sidigas AV (7-4) crushing them 110-64 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. He recorded 19 points and added 5 passes. Alma-Agenzia Per Il Lavoro Trieste (6-5) is placed sixth in the Serie A. It's Wright's first season with the team. Wright has relatively good stats this year 11.8ppg, 2.9rpg and 4.5apg.

   #5. Greg Monroe (6'11''-C-90, graduated '10, plays in the NBA) contributed to a 3-point Toronto Raptors' victory against the Indiana Pacers (22-12) 99-96 in the NBA on Wednesday night. Monroe recorded 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 22 minutes. The Toronto Raptors have a solid 25-10 record this season. It's Monroe's first year with the team. This year he averages 4.8ppg and 3.7rpg in 18 games.

   #6. Jason Clark (6'2''-G-90, graduated '12, currently in Germany), who plays in Germany could not help Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Clark's good performance the first-placed Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt was defeated 72-65 on the road by the leading Unics Kazan in the group F of Eurocup. He recorded 12 points. Clark has relatively good stats this season 11.8ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.4apg.

   #7. DaJuan Summers (6'8''-PF-88, graduated '09, plays pro in South Korea) was not able to help SK Knights (9-16) in their last game. Despite Summers' very good performance SK Knights were crushed 87-65 in Changwon by the higher-ranked (#4) LG Sakers. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 11 rebounds. Summers also added 2 blocks in 37 minutes. It was his first game for SK Knights this season.

   #8. L.J. Peak (6'5''-G/F-96, graduated '17, plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for Pistoia Basket (3-8) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Peak's very good performance the bottom-ranked Pistoia Basket was defeated 86-80 in Torino by the higher-ranked Fiat TO (#12). He was the top scorer with 16 points. Peak also added 4 assists. He has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4spg.

   #9. Hollis Thompson (6'8''-SF-91, graduated '12, currently in the NBA G League), who plays in the NBA G League couldn't help the Northern Arizona Suns (3-18) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Northern Arizona Suns (#5) lost 95-106 in Erie to the Bay Hawks. Thompson was the second best scorer with 20 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 29 minutes. Thompson has relatively good stats this year 15.0ppg, 8.5rpg and 2.0apg in two games.

   #10. Joshua Smith (6'10''-C-92, graduated '15, plays pro in Japan) contributed to a Toyama Grouses' victory against the fifth-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix 83-79 in the Japanese B League last Saturday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 11 rebounds. Smith also added and 4 steals. This season he has very high stats. Smith averages 19.3ppg, 11.2rpg, 3.1apg and 1.4spg.
