Top Wake Forest University alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Demon Deacons alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. John Collins (6'10''-PF-97, graduated '17, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Atlanta Hawks (9-23) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Atlanta Hawks (9-23) were badly defeated 144-127 on the road by the Brooklyn Nets. Collins was the top scorer with 29 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 34 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Collins' second season in pro basketball. It was Hawks' third consecutive loss in a row. Collins has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 18.5ppg, 9.9rpg and 2.5apg in 16 games he played so far. Collins is a naturalized Virgin Islander.

   #2. Konstantinos Mitoglou (6'10''-PF-96, graduated '18, plays in Greece) led Panathinaikos to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked AEK (7-3) crushing them 111-79 in a derby game in the Greek A1 last Sunday. Mitoglou recorded 14 points; not bad, considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens (9-0) is placed first in the A1. So far his team won all nine games in the Regular Season. This season Mitoglou averages 4.9ppg and 4.3rpg.

   #3. C.J. Harris (6'3''-SG-91, graduated '13, currently in France) led Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez to a 1-point victory over the 13th-ranked Le Mans (6-9) 91-90 in the French ProA on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Harris recorded 25 points and added 4 assists in 35 minutes. Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez (9-5) is placed third in the ProA. Harris has very impressive stats this year 18.3ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.9apg in 14 games.

   #4. Bryant Crawford (6'3''-G-97, graduated '18, plays pro in Israel) was not able to help Hapoel Galil Gilboa (6-4) in their last game on Monday. Despite Crawford's good performance Hapoel Galil Gilboa was badly defeated 88-70 in Eilat by the higher-ranked Hapoel (#3). He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Crawford also added 4 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). It's Crawford's first season with the team. This year he has very high stats. Crawford averages 18.7ppg, 3.1rpg, 4.9apg and 2.6spg.

   #5. James Johnson (6'9''-F-87, graduated '09, plays in the NBA) led Miami Heat to a victory against the Milwaukee Bucks (22-10) 94-87 in the NBA last Saturday. Johnson recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 30 minutes. The Miami Heat has 16-16 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Johnson has relatively good stats this year 8.1ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.4apg in 16 games.

   #6. Al-Farouq Aminu (6'9''-F-90, graduated '10, currently in the NBA) contributed to a 3-point Portland Trail Blazers' victory against the Dallas Mavericks 121-118 in the NBA on Sunday night. He scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Aminu has relatively good stats this season 9.1ppg and 7.9rpg. He is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #7. Codi Miller-McIntyre (6'3''-G-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Russia) was not able to secure a victory for Zenit Sankt Petersburg in their game against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket in the Eurocup. He recorded 7 points and added 6 passes in 27 minutes. His team was edged 84-81. This year Miller-McIntyre averages 4.5ppg, 1.5rpg and 7.5apg in two games.

   #8. Mitchell Wilbekin (6'2''-G-94, graduated '18, plays in Turkey) couldn't help Sakarya Buyuksehir Basketbol (4-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Wilbekin's good performance Sakarya Buyuksehir Basketbol was crushed 89-56 in Istanbul by the much higher-ranked Galatasaray (#5). He was the top scorer with 11 points. Wilbekin also added 4 assists. This season Wilbekin averages 9.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.2apg.

   #9. L.D. Williams (6'4''-G/F-88, graduated '10, currently in Slovenia), who plays in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM couldn't help Ilirija (19-0) in their last game. Despite Williams' very good performance the league leader Ilirija lost 76-85 at home to the lower-ranked (#5) Helios Suns. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds. Williams also added and 3 steals (made all of his six free throws) in 33 minutes. Williams has relatively good stats this year 12.3ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.8apg and 2.0spg in four games.

   #10. Nikita Meshcharakou (6'7''-F-88, graduated '12, plays pro in Belarus) couldn't help Tsmoki-Minsk in their game against Lokomotiv in the VTB United League. Meshcharakou scored 5 points. His team was defeated 80-69. This season Meshcharakou averages 5.1ppg and 1.9rpg.
