Top West Virginia University alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Mountaineers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Devin Williams (6'9''-C-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Turkey) led Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket to a victory over the closely-ranked Istanbul BBSK (5-8) 97-78 in the Turkish BSL on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Williams recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 32 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Williams' third season in pro basketball. Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket (5-6) is placed ninth in the BSL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Williams has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 19.6ppg, 12.1rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg.

   #2. Joe Alexander (6'8''-C/F-86, graduated '08, plays in Turkey) contributed to Besiktas' victory against the closely-ranked Neptunas (4-5) 77-70 in the Basketball Champions League in Tuesday night's game. He scored 11 points, had 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Besiktas Sompo Japan Istanbul (4-5) is placed fifth in the Basketball Champions League. It's Alexander's first season with the team. This year Alexander averages 6.4ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.5apg in eight games he played so far. He is a naturalized Israeli.

   #3. Da'Sean Butler (6'7''-F-88, graduated '10, currently in Israel) managed to help Hapoel Jerusalem to win against the sixth-ranked Lietkabelis (3-6) crushing them 97-70 in the Basketball Champions League last Tuesday. He scored 5 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 22 minutes. Hapoel Jerusalem (7-2) is placed second in the Basketball Champions League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Butler's first season with the team. This year Butler averages 8.7ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.1apg.

   #4. Teyvon Myers (6'2''-G-94, graduated '17, plays pro in Sweden) could not help KFUM Jamtland Basket (12-7) in their last game. Despite Myers' very good performance KFUM Jamtland Basket lost 73-86 on the road to the leading Sodertalje Kings. He was the top scorer with 22 points. Myers also added 4 steals; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Myers has very impressive stats this year 15.4ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.5apg and 1.1spg in 19 games.

   #5. Devin Ebanks (6'9''-F-89, graduated '10, plays in France) was not able to help Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket (11-4) in their game last Friday. Despite Ebanks' very good performance Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket was crushed 106-83 in Limoges by the much lower-ranked CSP Elite (#12). He was the top scorer with 20 points in 35 minutes. This season Ebanks has very high stats. He averages 21.9ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg.

   #6. Darryl Bryant (6'1''-PG-90, graduated '12, currently in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague was not able to secure a victory for BC Rustavi 1991 in their last game. Despite his very good performance BC Rustavi 1991 lost 81-86 in Tbilisi to the lower-ranked (#7) BC Titebi. Bryant was the top scorer with 34 points. He also added 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. Bryant has very impressive stats this year 23.5ppg, 4.5apg and 2.5spg in two games.

   #7. Daxter Miles Jr. (6'3''-G-96, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Northern Arizona Suns (3-18) in their game last Sunday. Despite Miles Jr.'s very good performance the Northern Arizona Suns (#5) were crushed 119-79 in Southaven by the Memphis Hustle. He was the top scorer with 22 points in 25 minutes. Miles Jr. has relatively good stats this season 11.5ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg.

   #8. Juwan Staten (6'1''-PG-92, graduated '15, plays in Finland) couldn't help Helsinki Seagulls (6-8) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Helsinki Seagulls was edged 80-79 in Salo by the leading Vilpas. Staten was the second best scorer with 22 points. Staten has very impressive stats this year 17.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 4.1apg in eight games.

   #9. Experienced D'Or Fischer (6'11''-C-81, graduated '05, currently in Japan) was the main contributor in a Shiga L-Stars' victory against the second-ranked Kyoto Hannaryz 68-62 in the Japanese B League last Saturday. Fischer was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. Fischer has relatively good stats this season 13.5ppg, 11.3rpg and 2.8apg. He is a naturalized Israeli.

   #10. Jevon Carter (6'2''-G-95, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Memphis Grizzlies in their game against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. He scored 5 points. His team were badly defeated by 17 points 110-93 in the NBA. This year Carter averages 4.0ppg and 1.3rpg in four games.
