Best performed former The University of Arkansas players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Razorbacks players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Sonny Weems (6'6''-G/F-86, graduated '08, plays pro in China) could not help Guangdong Southern Tigers (20-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Guangdong Southern Tigers were edged 106-103 on the road by the second-ranked Flying Leopards. Weems was the top scorer with 40 points. He also added 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 37 minutes. Weems has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 24.6ppg, 6.4rpg, 6.8apg and 1.6spg in 21 games he played so far.

   #2. Courtney Fortson (5'11''-PG-88, graduated '10, plays in China) led Zhejiang Guangsha Lions to a victory over the ninth-ranked Long-Lions (12-10) 102-88 in the Chinese CBA on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Fortson recorded 31 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (16-5) are placed fourth in the CBA. This season Fortson has very high stats. He averages 25.0ppg, 8.4rpg, 11.2apg and 2.5spg.

   #3. Bobby Portis (6'10''-PF-95, graduated '15, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the Chicago Bulls (8-25) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Chicago Bulls (8-25) were edged 96-93 in Brooklyn by the Nets. Portis had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds in 24 minutes. Portis has very impressive stats this year 11.9ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.2apg in nine games.

   #4. Jabril Durham (6'1''-G-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Latvia) contributed to a 3-point VEF Riga's victory against the closely-ranked BK Ogre (9-4) 111-108 in the Latvian LatEstBL last Thursday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and making 10 passes. Durham also added 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. VEF Riga (11-1) is placed second in the LatEstBL. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. This season Durham averages 9.6ppg, 4.1rpg, 6.5apg and 1.6spg.

   #5. Patrick Beverley (6'1''-PG-88, graduated '08, plays in the NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Los Angeles Clippers (19-13) in their last game. Despite Beverley's good performance the Los Angeles Clippers (19-13) lost 127-131 in Portland to the Trail Blazers. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and making 11 passes. Beverley also added 4 rebounds in 31 minutes. It was Clippers' fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Beverley averages 6.8ppg, 3.8rpg and 3.6apg in 32 games.

   #6. Coty Clarke (6'7''-F-92, graduated '14, currently in Montenegro), who plays in Montenegro couldn't help Buducnost (3-11) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance Buducnost was crushed 106-68 in Istanbul by the much higher-ranked Anadolu Efes (#4). Clarke was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 4 rebounds. This season Clarke averages 7.4ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg.

   #7. Rashad Madden (6'5''-G-92, graduated '15, plays pro in Israel) was the main contributor in a Hapoel Galilee's victory against the league outsider Hasharon 82-70 in the Israeli National League (second division) last Tuesday. Madden was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 30 points and getting 11 rebounds. Madden also added 6 assists in 35 minutes. Madden has very impressive stats this year 17.9ppg, 7.6rpg and 3.8apg in 10 games.

   #8. Jaylen Barford (6'3''-G-96, graduated '18, plays in the NBA G League) was the major contributor in a Greensboro Swarm's victory against the South Bay Lakers 106-90 in the NBA G League on Thursday night. Barford recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. This season Barford has very high stats. He averages 18.6ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg.

   #9. Experienced Teddy Gipson (6'3''-G-80, graduated '02, currently in Holland) contributed to a 2-point Groningen's victory against the eighth-ranked Rotterdam 79-77 in the Dutch Eredivisie in Saturday night's game. Gipson recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 27 minutes. This year Gipson averages 7.3ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.8apg in 10 games.

   #10. Arlando Cook (6'8''-F/C-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Argentina) couldn't help Rocamora in their game against Parque Sur in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division). Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Cook was the top scorer with 24 points. He also added 6 rebounds. Cook has relatively good stats this season 13.6ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.2spg.
