Top University of Colorado alumni playing currently pro basketball

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Buffaloes players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Cory Higgins (6'5''-G-89, graduated '11, plays pro in Russia) led his Russian team CSKA to an easy victory against the league outsider VEF Riga (2-9) crushing them 107-80 in the VTB United League on Sunday night. He recorded 13 points in only a mere 11 minutes. CSKA Moscow (9-0) is placed first in the VTB United League. So far his team won all nine games in the Regular Season. It's Higgins' fourth season with the team. This year Higgins averages 9.7ppg and 1.7rpg.

   #2. Spencer Dinwiddie (6'6''-G-93, graduated '14, plays in the NBA) led Brooklyn Nets to a 3-point victory over the Chicago Bulls (8-25) 96-93 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Dinwiddie was MVP of the game. He recorded 27 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 3 assists. The Brooklyn Nets have 15-19 record this season. Dinwiddie has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 17.4ppg, 2.6rpg and 5.1apg in 34 games he played so far.

   #3. Askia Booker (6'1''-G-93, graduated '15, currently in Spain), who plays in the Spanish Liga Endesa could not help Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB (5-7) in their game last Sunday. Despite Booker's very good performance Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB was defeated 80-74 on the road by the much higher-ranked Real Madrid (#3). He was the top scorer with 18 points in 21 minutes. It's Booker's first season with the team. This year Booker averages 9.7ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.0apg. He is a naturalized Swiss.

   #4. Josh Scott (6'10''-F-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Japan) led Ryukyu GK to a 3-point victory over the third-ranked Diamond Dolphins (15-11) 91-88 in the Japanese B League on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Scott had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Scott's third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (20-6) is placed first. Scott has very impressive stats this year 17.7ppg, 9.3rpg and 1.7apg in 26 games.

   #5. Alec Burks (6'6''-G-91, graduated '11, plays in the NBA) led Cleveland Cavaliers to a 1-point victory against the Indiana Pacers (21-12) 92-91 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Burks scored 14 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 26 minutes. The Cleveland Cavaliers have not so impressive 8-25 record this season. It's Burks' first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 10.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 2.6apg.

   #6. Derrick White (6'5''-G-94, graduated '17, currently in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Orlando Magic crushing them 129-90 in the NBA last Wednesday. White recorded 9 points and added 6 passes. This year he averages 5.9ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.5apg in 25 games.

   #7. Thomas Akyazili (6'2''-PG-97, graduated '17, plays pro in Belgium) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Liege Basket crushing them 109-60 in the Belgian Euromillions League on Friday night. Akyazili scored 6 points and added 3 assists in 15 minutes. This season he averages 1.6ppg, 1.2rpg and 2.8apg.

   #8. Wesley Gordon (6'9''-F-94, graduated '17, plays in Hungary) led Sopron KC to a victory against the league outsider TF Budapest 92-87 in the Hungarian A Division in Saturday night's game. Gordon recorded 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. He has relatively good stats this year 13.1ppg, 9.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.7bpg in 11 games.

   #9. Xavier Johnson (6'7''-F/G-93, graduated '17, currently in the NBA G League), who plays in the NBA G League was not able to help the Texas Legends (8-13) in their game last Friday. Despite his good performance the Texas Legends (#4) were defeated 111-102 in Mississauga by the Raptors 905 Missisauga. Johnson recorded 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 17 minutes. This season he averages 6.4ppg and 5.3rpg.

   #10. Marcus Relphorde (6'6''-F/G-88, graduated '11, plays pro in Israel) was not able to secure a victory for Maccabi Rehovot in their game against Ironi Kiryat Ata in the Israeli National League (second division), despite his very good performance last Tuesday. Relphorde was the top scorer with 30 points. He also added 4 assists. But his team was edged 92-90. Relphorde has very impressive stats this year 17.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg in 10 games.
