We bring you last week's top former Aztecs players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Kawhi Leonard (6'7''-F-91, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) led Toronto Raptors to a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-25) 126-110 in the NBA last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Leonard scored 37 points (!!!) and grabbed 6 rebounds in 32 minutes. The Toronto Raptors have a solid 25-10 record this season. It's Leonard's first year with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Leonard averages 26.8ppg, 8.4rpg, 3.1apg and 1.8spg in 26 games he played so far.

   #2. Jamaal Franklin (6'5''-SG-91, graduated '13, plays in China) was the main contributor in a Sichuan Blue Whales' victory against the closely-ranked Fly Dragons (6-17) 95-84 in the Chinese CBA on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Franklin recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 8 assists, 2 blocks and 3 steals. Sichuan Blue Whales (5-16) are placed 18th in the CBA. This season Franklin has very high stats. He averages 34.7ppg, 9.7rpg, 7.4apg, 1.8bpg and 2.8spg.

   #3. J.J. O'Brien (6'7''-F-92, graduated '15, currently in Kazakhstan) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Kalev/Cramo (5-6) crushing them 105-78 in the VTB United League in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. O'Brien scored 23 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 32 minutes. BK Astana (6-3) is placed fourth in the VTB United League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. O'Brien has very impressive stats this year 15.2ppg, 5.4rpg and 4.6apg in nine games.

   #4. Malcolm Thomas (6'9''-C-88, graduated '11, plays pro in Russia) could not help Khimki (9-1) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Thomas' good performance Khimki was defeated 93-80 at home by the much lower-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (#10). He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Thomas averages 5.4ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg.

   #5. Richard Williams (5'10''-PG-87, graduated '09, plays in Czech Republic) was the major contributor in a BK Pardubice's victory against the closely-ranked Basketbal Svitavy (10-5) 93-85 in the Czech Republic NBL on Saturday night. Williams scored 13 points, had 9 boards, passed 7 assists and added 3 steals in 29 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK JIP Pardubice (10-4) is placed second in the NBL. Williams has relatively good stats this year 14.4ppg, 4.7rpg and 5.6apg in 13 games.

   #6. Experienced Marcus Slaughter (6'9''-C/F-85, graduated '06, currently in Turkey) managed to help Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul to win against the closely-ranked Besiktas crushing them 83-57 in a derby game in the Turkish BSL in Saturday night's game. Slaughter scored 5 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. This season Slaughter averages 8.3ppg, 8.5rpg, 2.1apg and 1.6spg.

   #7. Mehdi Cheriet (6'9''-PF-87, graduated '11, plays pro in France) was not able to help SO Maritime Boulogne (8-8) in their last game. Despite Cheriet's good performance the seventh-placed SO Maritime Boulogne was edged 74-71 on the road by the second-ranked Saint-Quentin in the Group A. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. This year Cheriet averages 8.3ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.1apg in 15 games. He has also French citizenship.

   #8. Mohamed Abukar (6'10''-F-85, graduated '07, plays in Cyprus) was not able to secure a victory for Keravnos in their game against Apollon in the Cypriot Division A. Abukar recorded 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 82-76. Abukar has relatively good stats this season 14.2ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.0apg. He is a naturalized Somalian.

   #9. Deshawn Stephens (6'8''-F-89, graduated '13, currently in Israel) couldn't help Maccabi Rishon in their game against Bnei Hasharon in the Israeli Winner League. He recorded 5 points in 16 minutes. His team lost 67-74. Stephens has relatively good stats this year 14.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.7apg in 10 games.

   #10. Niksha Federico (6'7''-G/F-95, played in 2013-17, plays pro in Spain) couldn't help Araberri in their game against Palencia Baloncesto in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Federico scored 9 points. His team was defeated 92-87. Federico has relatively good stats this season 11.7ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.5spg.
