We bring you last week's top former Fighting Illini players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Rayvonte Rice (6'4''-G-92, graduated '15, plays pro in Mexico) led Soles de Mexicali to a victory over the seventh-ranked Huracanes (3-18) 84-68 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Rice scored 22 points and had 3 steals in 34 minutes. Soles de Mexicaliis placed first in South group. It's Rice's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Rice averages 21.0ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.3apg and 2.0spg.

   #2. Meyers Leonard (7'1''-C-92, graduated '12, plays in the NBA) was the major contributor in a Portland Trail Blazers' victory against the Memphis Grizzlies (16-16) 99-92 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Leonard recorded 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Portland Trail Blazers have 18-14 record this season. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. It's Leonard's seventh year with the team. This season he averages 5.6ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.2apg in 29 games he played so far.

   #3. Maverick Morgan (6'10''-C-94, graduated '17, currently in Poland) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Hallmann (0-5) crushing them 95-70 in the Alpe Adria Cup last Wednesday. Morgan scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 19 minutes. GTK Gliwice (5-1) is placed first in group D. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the Alpe Adria Cup. It's Morgan's first season with the team. This year he averages 6.0ppg and 3.3rpg.

   #4. Jaylon Tate (6'3''-PG-95, graduated '17, plays pro in Finland) could not help Pyrinto Tampere (9-6) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Pyrinto Tampere lost 82-87 on the road to the lower-ranked (#8) Helsinki Seagulls. Tate was the second best scorer with 18 points. He also added 6 rebounds and 4 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Tate's second season in pro basketball. Tate has relatively good stats this year 14.3ppg, 2.5rpg and 5.6apg in 15 games.

   #5. D.J. Richardson (6'3''-G-91, graduated '13, plays in France) was not able to help Aix-Maurienne Savoie Basket (6-5) in their game last Tuesday. Despite Richardson's very good performance Aix-Maurienne Savoie Basket was badly defeated 92-76 in Vichy by the higher-ranked JA Vichy (#5). He was the top scorer with 20 points. Richardson also added 3 steals in 32 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Richardson has very high stats. He averages 17.5ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.7apg and 1.9spg.

   #6. Matic Vesel (6'9''-F-98, graduated '18, currently in Slovenia), who plays in the Slovenian 2SKL (second division) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams LTH Castings (5-5) in their last game. Despite his good performance LTH Castings was edged 83-80 in Zasavlje by the higher-ranked (#6) Hrastnik. Vesel recorded 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Vesel has relatively good stats this year 13.2ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg in 10 games.

   #7. Mark Alstork (6'5''-G-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Luxembourg) couldn't help Residence in their game against Musel Pikes in the Luxembourg Total League. Despite his very good performance last Saturday Alstork recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 19 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals in 40 minutes. This season Alstork has very high stats. He averages 24.2ppg, 9.3rpg, 2.0apg and 2.5spg. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

   #8. Rodney Alexander (6'7''-F-87, graduated '08, plays in Taiwan) couldn't help Bank of Taiwan in their game against Dacin Tigers in the Taiwanese SBL, despite his good performance on Saturday night. He scored 10 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. But his team was badly defeated by 16 points 89-73. This year Alexander averages 9.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 2.0apg in two games.
